“I, uh– thanks.” She wasn’t used to it, that was very clear.

His hands were raised in a defensive way, an incredulous expression on his face. “Hey, I’m not accusing you of anything. I just don’t really like fighting.” He muttered, beginning to think maybe he just shouldn’t have gotten involved. “Look, what’s the conflict here?”

“I will.” She nodded a little, biting her lip. “Or maybe call it for me?”

“I know you are Ave, but you’ve gotta try harder.”

“Don’t act like you’re not impressed Ave.”

“Well that’s good at least. Just kind of hoped I’d finished the whole packing up and moving thing.”

“–Right, baby, you’re hot. But I’m here for the booze.”

“So this is the place I have to stay instead of being at home with my mums. Great.”
