A Ragatha fanfiction for @1-wonder-1

TW: bulimia(throwing up), mentions of self harm, restraint, sedation, medical trauma

“Ragatha, you in there?” Zooble called out, seeing that Ragathas bathroom light was on. They knocked, but there was no response.

All Zooble could hear was faint breathing, at times there were gasps and gagging sounds.

“Ragatha, don’t give me the silent treatment, please.” Zooble spoke, their hand on the doorknob.

“I’m gonna come in, okay?” They continued, and turned the doorknob, but it wouldn’t budge.

Ragatha had done this many times, and each time it meant that she was purging. Zooble would only be able to get in if they’re either convinced Ragatha to open the door, or straight up busted the door down. The first one was the only one that ever happened, though.

Then the choking noises came, Zooble shook the knob, freaking out slightly. “Ragatha, no, no, no, please open the door. I just want to help you.”

Plops of the water echoed the bathroom, black sludge with chunks of food that censored her puke left her mouth and into the toilet. It slushed and squelched horribly, but once she was done, she coughed hard.

Ragatha unlocked the door, peeking her head out, when she saw Zooble, she freaked out a little. She hasn’t heard them come in over the sound of her ears ringing and the dissociation she experienced the entire time.

“It’s not what it looks like, I- I promise! Please don’t tell Caine, I’m fine, really!”

Zooble came forward, taking Ragathas flapping hands. “Ragatha, you’re already sick enough as it is, you can’t do this to yourself.”

The rag doll’s eyes welled up with tears, “You don’t understand!” She cried, pulling her hands away and pulling her hair.

Zooble tried to remain calm, but it was very difficult, they weren’t trained on what to do? What were they supposed to do? Lock her bathroom? That felt too harsh, almost.

“Just, breathe, okay? I’m sorry I upset you, it’s just-“ Zooble stammered,

“You’re gonna get really sick, and even if we can’t die, it still will affect you horribly.”

Ragatha just shook her head, turning the other way and bolting out her room.

“Hey- wait! Ragatha! You’re going to fall!” Zooble called out, following quickly behind her.

She didn’t even make it past the patient hallway before she fainted. Ragatha smacked the floor with a loud thud, and Zooble quickly hurried over.

They placed their thumb over Ragathas inner wrist.

“Pulse is extremely high…oh god, Caine!” Zooble yelled, before they knew it Caine had come over with a pulse ox and blood pressure cuff.

Caine grimaced, his face worried, “Vitals are both very high…what happened?”

Zooble gulped, scratching their neck a little. “She purged again.”

Caine looked…frustrated? He never seemed to show that emotion other than when Jax was too much or Pomni fought with him or something.

Ragathas eyes opened slowly, but they widened when she figured out what was going on.

“I’m sorry! Please please please don’t-“ She cried, beginning to tug at her face patches.

Caine quickly moved, sitting next to her, and with a firm grip, pulling back her hands and pinning them at her sides.

“Let’s please not do that, sweetie, you’re okay, you just fainted.” Caine soothed, but with a slightly harsher edge. He looked back at Zooble, “Help me carry her back to one of the examination rooms.”

Zooble hesitated, but stepped forward, standing Ragatha up and wrapping their arms around her, pinning her arms to her torso. She sobbed , hard, writhing slightly.

“I’m sorry…I’m sorry….I won’t do it again! I promise!”

Caine followed along as Zooble transported Ragatha, her feet dragged on the floor. “Breathe with me, okay? Everything is going to be okay, sweetheart, we’re gonna get you the help you need.” Caine spoke quietly, occasionally squeezing one of her hands.

Once they got to the exam room, Caine and Zooble gently lowered Ragatha onto the bed. She was pushing and kicking and thrashing, which she never did, because she knew what was going to come next.

Zooble held Ragatha down, Dr. Moon assisting them, as it was later in the evening. Dr. Moon spoke up.

“Caine, is there anything else we can do so we don’t have to restrain the poor girl?”

Caine, who was going through cabinets and grabbing his needed supplies, spoke quickly back. “No, we need her awake for this.”

Zooble looked towards Caine, “Wait- for what?”

Caine spoke in a whisper, fidgeting with his hands slightly. “Dr. Abel said if something like this happens again, Ragatha purging, then…” he paused. “We have to give her nutrients in…another way.”

Caine showed Zooble and Dr. Moon a long, thin yellow tube, in a way where Ragatha couldn’t see it.

“Sit her up.” Caine ordered gently, coming over and measuring the tube from her ear to her stomach. He took a cotton ball and put some lubricant on the end of the tube in a thin I layer to help it go down easier.

“No, no, no! Please don’t!” Ragatha cried, kicking and thrashing her legs around.

Caine saw this, and took a deep breath, he set the tube down on a sheet of sterile paper, and left the room.

“It’ll be okay, Ragatha, take a deep breath, okay? Try and calm down.” Dr. Moon persuaded, holding her ankles down in a firm grip.

Caine came back with a small needle full of a pink substance, she only saw it once, the one time she got it went Caine meant to give it to Jax. It made her all loopy.

“This is just going to help relax you, alright sweetheart?” Caine cooed, pulling up her sleeve and injecting the sedative into the fat of her shoulder.

She winced a little, but soon after 2 or 3 minutes, was calm enough to not move while he placed the tube in.

Ragatha couldn’t remember much during it, all she knew is that when she woke up the next morning, that she had something stuck to her face.
