Dave you are amazing đ 7500 miles over 6 months, 8 countries and it has been amazing. All went so well, apart from a small electrical fire but all was well. I am so sad to end this journey, yeah we had our bad days but then who wouldn't, we haven't been apart from each other for the whole time. It's been hard, tiring, testing and cramped but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. Thank you Dave, thank you family and thank you Europe đđđđđ

Spent the last 3 days at the Moto gp. Massive brownie point to me but I actually really loved it.
Every day, well nearly every day we fight about doing school work. I know what he means, who wants to learn about vowels when you can lose yourself playing cars đ this is when he is most content. I thought the school work bit would be easy but some days it so hard because he doesn't put any effort in at all and its so frustrating. On the days when he does try its great and you feel such a sense of achievement. We don't call it school work we call it brain training as he hates that he has to do school work.

A day out in Lisbon and the only campsite in Lisbon has taken a whole weeks budget đ itâs done now though and was enjoyed by us all so onwards and upwards đ a word to the wise though, there is only one campsite in Lisbon ands its sooo expensive. It cost us 33âŦ a night and the place wasnât even that nice and that was with a 10% acsi discount. So if your heading that way make sure you budget for it.
Sick of feeling like I'm being ripped off by campsites so giving free camping a go. We are currently using the park4night app and finding it really helpful. Feels so good when you park up for free đ

Home made awning working a treat when you need shade. We have used it before but never for shade. I'm really pleased with the way it's turned out, even if I do say myself đ
Every inch of space must be used so I've used these shower trays to keep stuff I need to get at all the time.
So far, so amazing. Everywhere we have been we have been blown away by the scenery and the nature that we have been surrounded with. We have been mainly using sites from the ACSI app as it is really easy to find sites but if you are doing the same don't get to sucked into the descriptions of the site. I can assure you they don't look anything like what the descriptions say. We have learnt now, a month in, that the descriptions don't count for anything and just to know that they will have a toilet and a shower and that is all we want really, the state that the toilet and shower are in are a different story but it's better then a Bush. Also the idea of ACSI is that you get cheap out of season camping but I don't really think we have found a cheap site yet. The cheapest has been âŦ15 a night which I still feel is expensive for the end of March and most of the sites facilities are closed. If I could have found another app that actually works and that could just tell me where campsites are that are actually open then I would use that but I can't seem to find one. I was recommended to use searchforsites which I have a couple of times and had good results but I can only use it when I have WiFi. With livin on a budget I am trying to not use data roaming to help keep costs down. I also downloaded an app called camperstops but again it dosn't really work unless you have WiFi even though I paid extra for it to work offline. I basically didn't plan this properly. I should of done more reasearch into site weather it be no books or apps I need something to tell me where every site is, how much and when are they open. I'm sure there must be something like that out there but I can't find it.

So we are now 1000 miles in and all seems to be going well so far. I have spent the first few weeks trying to rearrange the van and constantly finding better places to put things. I feel like we are settling in now, we are getting more of a routine. You cant really get into a proper routine as each day is different but we have established that we need some sort of structure to our day to ensure Ollie has the time needed for school work and each of us can do the things we need to do each day. We do however have piles of washing. I have been doing bits here and there by hand as the washing machines are five euros a time which I think is soo expensive. We are struggling to keep to our budget so far. When we started we said we would try to stick to 250 euro a week, well that didn't work and we ended up spending around 300. So the next week we tried 300 and that didn't work either. We are now up to 330 and still struggling to stick to that. I think this will get better over time, the problem has been trying to find cheap sites. Initially I budgeted 15 a night but so far most that we have stayed at have been around 20. I think once the weather warms up it will be easier also as we will be able to find some wild camping spots as we wont need electric. At the moment it is quite cold at night and I worry about Ollie getting cold so we have opted for sites so I can use EHU and have a radiator plugged in just to take the edge off.
Food is a lot more expensive than I thought it would be but I think added to that is the fact that I have never really had to buy all 3 of us 3 meals a day. Normally with work and school we only ever have to worry about breakfast and dinner, also Bob doesn't normally eat breakfast but has started to now. We are shopping every 3 days and on average it is costing around 60 euros a time. Again it is something that we are trying to work on.Â
Like with everything at the moment we are still trying to find our feet, still trying to get our heads around the fact that this isn't a 2 week holiday and that we still have a long way to go. Me and bob still keep thinking about work and the house and worry about things that we don't need to worry about but it is something that is engrained into our heads and I think it will take a while to clear our minds.

happy days. Dave is doing so well. So far we have travelled 800 miles and we are in the north of Portugal right on the coast. We have travelled all through the north of Spain and had to climb some massive mountains but so far dave has taken it all in his stride. We are taking it really easy and being overtaken by massive lorries but we don't care as long as Dave is ok.
