THE BLACK PISTOLS

Gather ‘round one and all, for I am about to tell you the scariest story in all the West. One that you probably never heard of.
One arid summer during the Old West, when the American Frontier knew little of law or justice. The Devil himself came outta Hell itself, riding on top of a red horse; flying across the stormy skies, reveling in all the meanness and godlessness.
He hooped and hollered atop the stormy clouds, smoke and flame coming out of his horse's eyes, and in his hands he fired into the air two black pistols. These black pistols were of Satan's own making, forged from the fires of wrath and quenched in the blood of saints, both having hammers of pure celestial brass. The one named Ichor–its name was engraved into the barrel with gold, and the other named Poison, was engraved with silver.
The barrel tips glowed white hot with every shot, the gun shot so loud it boomed like thunder and every bullet fired burned hotter than hellfire, going out the barrel so quick that it can cut through stone and spirit!
When the Devil was done, he rested on top of a mesa. After a time, he noticed his horse looked strangely spooked by something behind them. The Devil turned and there riding towards him, slowly coming out of a thick blanket of cold fog, was a man—or at least what looked like a man.
He looked like he crawled straight out of his own grave, his skin frost bitten blue with black finger tips and long hooked claws. He rode atop a pale white horse—but not just any horse, it was a big hoss and so was its rider. He wore a very long tattered coat draped in elk hide covered in bullet holes, a blood stained sash on his hip with a black feathered stetson on the top of his head.
Following just behind him was a harrowing blizzard and freezing winds that sapped the desert heat like a rag. With eyes glowing an awful blue, he stared at the Devil—never blinking, never wavering, and his cracked lips curled into a crooked snarl, revealing rows of yellowed, fang-like teeth.
Satan felt a chill roll up his spine, for he knew The Undertaker was here. The Undertaker tethered his horse and approached Satan, the ground lightly trembled with each step. And when The Undertaker was close enough, The Devil finally noticed that his feet were massive deer hooves black as night poking from his boots.
“Who dares wake me from my sleep?” The Undertaker growled.
“I suppose I did” The Devil shouted back, arms crossed and his chest puffed.
“I was celebrating with my pistols! Then you came along and seemed to ruin my fun! You froze everything, and now my horse is cold and her fire has gone out.”
The Undertaker growled again.
“You and your racket! Your gunshots carried across the hills and valleys to reach my ears, waking me from sleep! Go back to Hell where you belong ya’ ol’ horny toad!”
“Seems to me that we're cross!” The Devil said with a huff.
“I wanna shoot my guns and have fun. And you wanna sleep. How do we settle this?”
The Undertaker smiled up at The Devil, a wicked glint in his empty eyes.
“How many men have you killed with those pistols?”
The Devil jumped with glee and answered.
“Plenty! How about you, stranger? I don’t see any irons on you!”
“I have killed men, women, varmints and all manner of beastly folk. I've killed just about anything and everything that walks, runs, crawls, flies, or slithers on this earth and beyond—and unlike you, I don’t need guns to catch my prey” The Undertaker chuckled
“You certainly are a bold man, son!” Satan said, flicking his forked tongue at his strange and irritating visitor.
“For I am Lucifer, I have destroyed kingdoms and toppled empires, I set Rome ablaze and danced in its flames while playing a fiddle. I fought with the angels and cast my brethren from the Heavens! I have killed far more than you ever wish you could, creature!”
The Undertaker laughed at the Devil's boast.
“Fine then, how about we find out who's really the better killer? I wager that I can kill ten times more than you.”
“I'll take that bet!! And if I win, I can continue frolicking for as long as I want to!”
“....and if I win,” The Undertaker responds, “I get to take your guns.”
The Devil, though hesitant at first, but with a flood of confidence he shook hands with The Undertaker and both parted ways, agreeing to meet back atop the mesa in seven days.
Satan rode atop his blazing steed all across the country, killing whatever outlaw that was in his sights, one hundred men with one pistol and one hundred with the other—each shooting iron having carved notches on the grips to keep count. Seven days passed, and The Devil returned to the top of the mesa, where The Undertaker and his horse waited for him.
Satan marched to the dead man and his horse, showing him the notches on the black pistols, pride overflowing him.
“So! How many have you killed?”
The Undertaker didn't answer, instead he turned around and walked away back into the snow. The Devil laughed triumphantly, mocking The Undertaker thinking he had beaten him.
And then all of a sudden, coming back out of the cold, was The Undertaker carrying two massive tied blankets soaked in golden blood.
“Look here, Devil, see how many I've killed with my own two hands!”
Satan took the blankets, both were full of something wet and very heavy. He looked inside, and what was in there turned the ol’ Devil himself white as a ghost.
Hearts—piles upon piles of hearts—angel hearts, the size of a human fist, some seemingly still attempt to pump the gilded ichor they were drenched in. It smelled akin to a butcher shop, like death had found itself a hole to crawl into.
“What are you?!?!” The Devil asked, eyes wide with terror!
The Undertaker’s shadow lengthened over the valley like the antlers of a great elk, as he answered pointing at the blood soaked blankets and its contents.
“THAT….. is what I am! Now git!”
In a flash of lightning, the Devil had fled and laying there at the Dead Man's feet was the black pistols. To this day, he rides still, on top of his white horse, an old black hat atop his head roaming the countryside searching for greedy souls.
And always on his hips are the beautiful, black guns from which claimed four hundred lives, now have taken a thousand fold…

Dawn had risen in Hell, the skies around the top of the tower of Pandemonium remained a dull shade of silvery blue. A gelid mist billowed throughout the circle in a thick cloud of celeste. Though the icy veils below was a prison for the treacherous, within the walls of polished obsidian; the tower was tranquility for it's inhabitants. So to was it for it’s sovereign and his lover. The Devil laid upon his back, a wing draped around her while red velvet sheet covered their naked forms.
His eyes of hellish crimson fluttered open as he turned on his side, being greeted by the sleeping Lute. Claws grazed across her face gently to remove strands of hair from her countenance.

Besides his twin brother Michael, Satan is the strongest of all angelkind and is feared across all the realms as one of the most powerful beings in existence, a borderline primordial who is equaled to even beings like The Titans, Beowulf, Ereshkegal, Loki, Ymir, Asheera, Elohim (in his prime), Ymir and Thanatos. His power even surpasses The Endless, beings of great cosmic significance.
ANGEL PHYSIOLOGY- Satan is a seraph, the highest order of angels in the Hierarchy and the progenitor of all angelkind; he is the oldest, wisest, and strongest of all his celestial brethren, while his twin, Michael, is his equal in both intelligence, strength, power, and beauty.
IMMORTALITY AND INVULNERABILITY-Satan is one of the oldest beings in existence and is immortal due to his angelic physiology. He can never age, die, or even become ill or sick. Satan cannot be harmed or killed by conventional means and shrug off any physical damage, and his mind and spirit are just as immortal as his corporal form. When he was thrown from Heaven, he was thrown from Heaven’s Gates down to Earth “like lightning,” The impact did little to no effect on him. However, weapons forged from Heaven and Hell can wound and even kill him.
SHAPESHIFTING- Like all angels, his physical and spiritual form is not limited to just one shape, and Satan can assume infinite forms. He has been chiefly known to carry the form of animals such as serpents, goats, dogs, lions, and even a twelve-headed dragon. To hide his true form, he can also take a human form, a recreation of his once angelic appearance before his fall.
GODLIKE PHYSICAL ABILITIES-Satan possesses uncanny strength, durability, speed, and physical agility. Angels possess unprecedented physical strength, and Satan, their progenitor, is stronger than them all. Like all angels, he can reach incalculable speeds, reaching near or over the speed of light, going great distances within seconds by physical exertion or flight. He can also react faster than the human eye can detect. Satan also possesses seemingly infinite stamina and endurance, as he cannot easily be physically fatigued.
OMNILINGUALISM-Satan can speak, write, understand, and communicate in any language.
BEAUTY AND CHARISMA- Once God’s most beautiful creation, in his human form, he possesses otherworldly beauty almost irresistible to mortal eyes. As a result, if he wishes to, Satan can charm, seduce, and tempt almost anyone, knowing exactly what to do or say to sway one to his will. His charisma is so high that even beings with immense willpower are capable of easily falling for his persuasiveness.
DIVINE PRESENCE- Like all angels, Satan possesses an overwhelming divine presence. In the presence of mortals and immortals alike, his aura is enough to make one nauseous and inflict reverence, awe, and even fear.
ANGELIC SHOUT- Angels can produce extremely powerful screams/shrieks so great that they often cause cataclysmic events such as earthquake tremors and even manipulate the weather. INTANGIBILITY- Satan can manipulate his physical and spiritual body to move through solid objects and ignore most physical effects in his way.
INSANITY INDUCEMENT- Like all angels, their true forms are frightening and beyond mortal comprehension. However, while this is the same for Satan, his true form isn't divine. Even some angels who have gazed upon Satan’s true form are filled with terror. Without being blessed with the gift of Sight Beyond Sight, those exposed to witnessing Satan's true form will go insane or die from sure fright upon a glance.
FLIGHT- With his wings, Satan can fly great distances and even across the vacuum of space.
EMBODIMENT OF REBELLION AND SIN- Contrary to popular belief, Satan is the personification of rebellion, anarchy, and sin. As the embodiment of these constructs, he has complete dominion over the concepts of rebellion, liberation, and acts of self-indulgence. He can grant boons and blessings to those who actively share in his ideology or oppose the rule of higher powers and authorities. He can also grant insight and premonitions to those who fight against oppressive systems. He can also make contracts, granting one's desires, bestowing power or riches to those he favors, and placing curses and bindings on those he despises. He can strengthen certain emotions in the face of oppression, such as rage and confidence. As the embodiment and creator of sin, he knows all the wiles and wishes of the flesh and knows more about the desecration of what one considers holy than any other being. No secret is hidden from Satan, who knows everyone's every wish, desire, sexual fantasy, lie, and deception. Though he rarely does so, he can force people to confess and act upon their most profound desires; his mere presence sometimes causes those near him to be overwhelmed with the urge to indulge in debauchery.
KING OF HELL- Satan is revered as the Supreme Overlord of the Damned, The King and creator of the Infernal Realms, and is one of the reigning Lords of the Afterlife. He has total dominion and sovereignty over the Infernal Realms and its occupants.
DEMON MANIPULATION- Satan is the founder and ruler of all demonkind and has absolute authority over the Ars Goetia and the spirits they command. If need be, Satan can actively force his authority on any demon or native of the Infernal Realm, including summoning and banishing demons at will.
FATHER OF MONSTERS- As the Emperor of Darkness, Satan is the creator and father of all monster kinds. He has dominion over all those cursed, abandoned, or shunned. The wrongfully outcast are under his discretionary protection should he choose- and the rightfully damned are his to torment and prosecute at will.
CREATOR OF INFERNAL MAGIC- Satan is the founder and creator of Infernal Magic, aka The Dark Arts, magic that directly comes from infernal forces drawing upon the power of sin and inherently unholy and demonic energies. In addition, he has dominion over who can and cannot use Infernal Magic and the right to give or take away that power.
NIGH OMNISCIENCE-Satan possesses a vast intellect due to being older than Creation and knowing many of its greatest secrets. He knows the answer to the most impossible riddle, humanity's desires, and darkest secrets. He can foresee future events, whether seconds or years away from happening, though it requires immense focus and concentration. He also possesses an adept awareness of the cosmos, knowing the events and happenings across Creation.
OMNIPRESENCE- Though he appears to be in one place, Satan exists and can coincide across Creation in all places and at all times. He can also project a near-perfect astral image of himself across different realms across the multiverse all while his true self remains in his native verse. And unlike most versions of himself, Satan is aware and connected to any and all versions of himself through quantum perception across the multiverse.
NIGH OMNIPOTENCE- For being the first of the angelic race, Satan was blessed by Elohim to consume a seed from the Tree of Knowledge, granting him near immeasurable demiurgic-like power. Even after his fall, though corrupted, he still possesses much, if not all, of his former power.
DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL-Satan can travel throughout realms at will by creating portals to other domains of existence within the multiverse.
PSYCHOMANCY-Satan possesses any and all mind-altering abilities such as telekinesis, telepathy, empathy, entering and manipulating dreams, and even memory erasure; he is also immune to all mind-altering or mind-based abilities.
WORDS OF COMMAND-High ranking angels can utter “Words of Command,” and Satan is no exception. Using this ability allows Satan to give a demand imbued with divine authority and power over the soul it is directed to, commanding anyone to do anything he says. Those affected by the Word of Command must do everything and anything he says to the letter. However, this ability has a limitation: The Word of Command must be heard or seen to be effective. Words of Command can also be used and heard to summon individuals even from across the cosmos.
THE POWER OF MIRACLE- Like all Angelkind, Satan can induce and create Miracles. Miracles are as mighty depending on how strong the Angel is. Miracles are considered a divinely natural phenomenon with an extremely outstanding or unusual event, thing, or accomplishment that Angels and those of Heaven have under their command. Satan can produce extremely powerful miracles that not even high-ranking angels can do, including transmutation, full power over the living and the dead, i.e., resurrection, blessing objects or people with great power, and even imbuing others with Sight Beyond Sight, granting one the ability to perceive the incomprehensible allowing one to see angels in their true forms without any adverse mental effects.
REALITY ALTERATION- Satan’s true talent is his ability to alter and manipulate reality, and he is stated to be the most capable and strongest reality warper in Mundus Macabre. He can alter and warp the fabric of reality to his whim and change almost any facet of reality with little distinction for laws of nature or rules of the cosmos.
ABSOLUTE ILLUSION - Satan can create and project “true illusions” that he can cast on a small or enormous scale and alter and create these illusions without limit. The illusions are so powerful that they become reality; he can use them to change and alter his surroundings, places, people, locations, events, etc.
WISH GRANTING- Through pacts and contracts. Satan can grant one's most profound wants and desires, freely materialize them into reality, and fulfill the wildest and most unlikely wishes and dreams, creating or destroying many things according to them.
COSMIC MANIPULATION- Satan has the ability to manipulate, create, destroy, and conjure any and all forms of matter and energy on an infinite scale from cosmic, divine, esoteric, and natural, including the manipulation of energy and matter from across space and time. He can create anything from something and freely alter and manipulate the molecular structure of matter itself. It can be small, from turning glass into diamond, or something huge like altering and bending the physical world around him, manipulating comets and asteroids, moons, planets, and even creating galaxies in the palm of his hand. TOTAL EVENT COLLAPSE- Satan’s most destructive ability is his ability to cause a vast explosion of pure cosmic energy that can cause immense devastation across an entire realm, effectively destroying the universe he is currently inhabiting, the wave of divine energy spreading across the realm reducing it to nonexistence. DARKNESS MANIPULATION - Satan can summon, manipulate and control, “perfect and impenetrable darkness”. The darkness inside completely negates sight and dulls other senses, trapping those consumed by it. Once something or someone is trapped in the darkness, there is no escape as you slowly become one with the darkness itself. Satan can summon this eternal darkness through clouds, mists, smoke, and even tendrils to incapacitate and ensnare foes. He also can use it to cast “eternal night” upon kingdoms and worlds.
TIME MANIPULATION-Satan can manipulate the flow of time itself. He can slow it down to a crawl or stop it completely; he can even travel back through time via the past or the future. He can even bring people along with him when he travels in time. This ability has limits, though; while he may change and influence time in the present or future, he cannot affect time in the past except travel to it. SOUL MANIPULATION- Satan is unrivaled in the ways of manipulating the soul. He can summon, corrupt, destroy, and even consume the souls of any beings, both immortal and mortal. He has been shown to be able to rip the soul from humans' bodies and even conjure damned souls from the depths of Hell itself. Satan can also condemn souls to damnation, dooming them to absolute torment in Hell, and he can also pardon one’s soul from their sins. He can heal and even restore one’s spiritual essence, restoring one's soul to its fullness. He also can transfer one’s soul from one place or afterlife to another. ASTRAL MANIPULATION- As a plus, Satan can willingly enter, interact, and even alter the astral world. With this, he can see, talk, and interact with spirits and even banish them to different sects of the afterlife.
WRAITHS OF WRATH- Summoning the damned and corrupted spirits. Satan can fetch legions of dark spirits that, once they attack, will experience every torment and suffering the spirit suffered in Hell condensed into moments, causing unfathomable physical and spiritual pain, all while they tear their souls bit by bit until the physical body is left a lifeless husk. SEA OF THE DAMNED-Satan can summon souls of the damned from the depths of Hell from flaming caverns that erupt from the ground to entrap one in their grasp and drag them straight down to Hell. Their touch will begin to burn and sear their flesh as they tear away from their skin until there’s nothing left but their screaming soul as they are forcibly drugged down into Hell. THE ACCURSED FLAME: Satan can conjure sacred fire as a seraph and is the first of only three angels capable of using this power, including Michael and Gabriel. But due to his fallen state, his flame has become corrupted and full of darkness, turning the fires a sickly shade of black. It is from these flames that hellfire was born. He can summon and manipulate his flame in a variety of ways and can burn on a corporeal and incorporeal level; the flames are so hot they can destroy constructs such as memories and even concepts. Due to the absolutely corrupt nature of the flames, they can burn the holy and divine, including deities and angels, reducing them physically and spiritually to ashes. Satan can expel, create, and project this dark flame through powerful blasts, waves, pillars, balls, and omnidirectional explosions to deal untold damage to foes and his surroundings. ABSOLUTE BURN- The heat of the flames can never be extinguished unless willed so by Satan. No conventional or magical means can extinguish the flames, ward, or protect, nor can it heal the destruction caused by it, leaving it forever black ash and dust.
BURNING SORROW-Embers of the black flame can flicker at the soul once inhaled and burn away all one's memories of joy and happiness, eating away all but one's most profound regrets.
HELL’S FURY- In his true form and human form, Satan can conjure a violent torrent of heat and black flame from his roar, obliterating anything within its path and reducing it to cinders. STAR CREATION- Also known as ‘The Lightbringer Power,’ Satan can create, destroy and manipulate stars. He displayed this ability by creating stars in the palm of his hand and, in his dragon form during the Great War in Heaven, using his tail to knock a ‘third of the stars down from Heaven.’ Satan can create one or an entire cluster of stars, big or small and can freely manipulate them, whoever he wishes. He can also use stars as an offensive ability.
BLACK HOLE CREATION- Satan can create black holes, creating singularities that induce a suction or vacuum effect. It draws all within its pull, from which not even light can escape, pulling them into the black hole to be torn apart into nothingness. Satan can fully control the size and power of the black holes he summons, using them to negate incoming attacks or cause indiscriminate and inescapable damage. Satan is very much the definition of elegant. He is a silver tongue and very charismatic with aristocratic behavior and a taste for life's finer things, such as lavish mansions, fine dining, etc. He is also very proud and calculating. He also has quite a dark sense of humor and doesn't always take certain situations seriously. He can be sarcastic and casually indifferent, usually a testament to his arrogance, constantly shedding snarky and wise-cracking remarks and quips. Despite his elegant speech, he has quite a foul mouth and is fond of cursing and swearing.
Satan is fearless and rarely takes offense to any insult thrown at him and merely retorts. He finds human beings exciting and full of potential- but is often simultaneously frustrated with their choices. Satan believes humans can become something greater than they already are, but far too many refuse, for they find comfort in being ‘pawns for the gods,’- thus making them feel entitled and essential, which disgusts him. Satan can be condescending, his confidence often bordering on egotistical and arrogant.
While Satan's actions and methods might be questionable, he is not truly ‘evil’; he is a rebel who follows his own rules and refuses to let anyone order him around. He has no regard for authority other than his own, freely doing whatever it takes to get what he wants and not stopping until he gets it.
With a strong sense of justice and an even stronger desire to fight against his father's design, Satan has turned Hell into a varied and prosperous place- one of healing as much as discipline. The remorseful and the damaged are given a chance to confront the harms caused by their actions in life, with the cruel, remorseless, and sadistic are punished with great fervor and gusto by Satan and his legions.
Satan can be cruel, ruthless, and brutal to those who earn his ire and are wholly deserving. In turn, Satan is incredibly doting, affectionate, and caring to those he sees as innocents and those wrongfully condemned- his kinfolk especially, as well as lovers and companions. His sense of justice often means lending aid to those who have been wronged in some manner- Mitzvah or Miracles, a well-placed deal, or a blessing in the right places can make a difference in the lives of his favored, and Satan is not one to turn down the opportunity to change the tides.
Satan hates the concept of worship. Including the worship of his Father/Creator God, particularly openly calling them mindless or willing enslaved people. He despises worship so much that he can’t stand even when others worship him, which significantly angers him, and he takes it as the greatest insult. His goal is for humanity to turn away from God’s will and acknowledge themselves as their gods, worship themselves, and be proud of who they are and want to be. To treat everyone with respect and reverence, never submit, and never kneel to those undeserving.
Satan is also profoundly traumatized- and though in the process of healing and recovery, he copes with the persona of a wise-cracking, charismatic, boisterous King of Hell. His fall from grace affected his self-image and emotional and mental state, but he has developed a healthy relationship with that damage through self-care and the pursuit of wellness. He’s accepted his past acts as a pattern of trauma and rage-induced outbursts and has come to grow past the impulses of lashing out against humans- but will not hesitate to repeat his past cruelties in the name of protecting his loved ones and favored.
Satan has occasional phantom pains from when God ripped his wings from his back; it can range from annoying to unbearably excruciating. During this time, he can become depressed, sorrowful, and sometimes aggressive with those who push his patience.
