        avalon  seemed  elated  at  brooklyn’s  agreeance,  twirling  the  daughter  of  hecate  under  her  arm  with  a  laugh.  “ah,  it  was  fine,”  she shrugged,  swinging  their  linked  hands  as  they  walked  towards  the  beach.  “i’m  sure  that  his  fanbase  loved  it.  honestly,  i  didn’t  really  talk  to  him  beyond  mine  and  my  siblings’  joint  offering.  i  did,  however,  enjoy  mr. d’s   ...    contribution  to  the  evening,”  her  brief  falter  at  the  mention  of her  dad  attending  the  feast  was  easily  covered  with  the  mention  of  liabations.  “i  am  sorry  that  i  didn’t  really  get  to  hang  out  with you  though,  brook    --    how  did  you  spend  your  hecatomb?”

     if  there  was  one  thing  about  avalon  balinor  that  was  instantly  clear  when  you  earned  her  friendship,  it  is  that  she  is  essentially  a  overly-loyal  golden  retriever  of  a  demigod,  and  would  come  and  bother  you  with  the  smallest  things  that  she  found   exciting   --   which  is  what  she  her  current  reasoning  was  for  her  incessant  knocking  on  hecate  cabin  door.  when  she  came  face-to-face  with  brooklyn  as  the  door  swung  open,  a  child-like  grin  spread  across  her  face.  using  one  hand  to  grab  brook’s,  avalon  used  her  other  to  point  towards  the   sky,  “the  sun  is  setting  and  it’s  going  to  be  a  beautiful  one   --   come  watch  it  with  me  at  the  fireworks  beach?”

     avalon’s  smile  remained,  always  happy  to  learn  more  about  her  friends   --   well,  she  hoped  mavis  would  consider  avalon  a  friend   --   particularly  when  those  friends  were  typically  more  reserved.  “my  mom  used  to  make  lemonade  with  rosemary  in  the  summertime,”  she  offered  in  return  with  a  nod,  glad  that  there  was  a  common  thread  there,  no  matter  how  small.  “do  you  ever  make  rosemary  bread  anymore?”  she  asked.   “i  think  it  sounds  pretty  good,  so  if  you  ever  find  yourself  with  some  to  spare,  or  the  sudden  urge  to  bake,  let  me  know.  i’m  not  a  great  baker,  but  i  am  enthusiastic  and  love  myself  some  carbs,  and  i  think  that  that  kind  of  makes  up  for  it,  y’know?”

     “with  you,  finn  my  love,  my  standards  are  always  low,”  she teased.  “now  don’t  you  go  around  pretending  that  you  despise  camp   --   even  if  you  hate  literally  everything  else  about  it,  reuniting  with  me  was  worth  it.”  of  course,  avalon  didn’t  know  for  a  fact  that  that  was  true  for  finn,  but  she  knew  that  seeing  finn  again  for  the  first  time  when  she  got  to  camp  had  been  the  best  thing  that  could’ve  possibly  happened  to  her.  she’d  been  so  scared  coming  to  camp  after  losing  everything,  that  seeing  him  and  having  even  the  smallest  connection  to  someone  made  everything   ...   bearable.  “typical  day  at  CHB  for  me   --   i   got  covered  in  paint  and  then  beat  the  shit  out  of  some  training  dummies,  hence  this,”  with  her  free  hand  she  gestured  vaguely  to  her  sweaty  and  semi-disheveled  appearance.  “and  how  about  yours,  hm?  or  were  you  just  waiting  for  me  make  an  appearance  near  the  forges  so  that  you  could  whisk  me  away  for  the  rest  of  the  day?”

      “target  practice?”  avalon  scoffed,  “i’m  not  looking  to  be  productive,  andi,  who  do  you  think  i  am?  i’m  looking  to  have  a  good  time.  besides,  oh  wonderous  archer,  we’re  both  already  outstanding  shots   --   you  with  your  aversion  to  close-range  weapons  and  me  with  my   ...   well,  daughter-of-apollo-ness.  however,  there  is  beautiful  sunshine,”  she gestured towards  the sky  where  her  father’s  chariot  had  flown  overhead  and  left  behind  beams  of  light  and wonderful  warmth,  “and  a  lake  calling  our  names   --   don’t  you  hear  it?  andi   ...   lonnie   ...  dive  into  my  depths   ...”  to  accompany  her  dramatics,  avalon  placed  her  hand  on  to  andromeda’s  shoulder,  turning the  daughter  of  demeter  in  the  direction  of  the  lake.  “we  have  nyads  to  make  friends  with   ...   and potentially  flirt  with.  we’ll  see  how  it  goes,  the  day  is  young.”
