While I cant say that eridians solving human aging feels particularly realistic, it would be very funny. because what if the sun was dying and you shot some people to space and then 30 years later one of them sends back the cure for the sun and gave most of the credit to ALIENS and in addition to the cure for the sun the aliens also gave us a sample of couple alien metals which revolutionized material science. And you build a bunch of statues and have a scientific and cultural renaissance and eveyone celebrates the guy as the best guy ever and the aliens as the nicest neighbors ever. And another century later just when earth climate has mostly stabilized and this is sort of starting to fade into the background of our cultural consciousness the same aliens and THE SAME GUY send the cure for cancer. All cancer. And also aging. I think people would get pretty weird about the aliens and the guy.
