2018 SpoCom Anaheim pictures! 

Superill car meet @ Downtown Los Angeles 2017

I thought it went well. Got some sweet pictures as I arrived a bit early so I got some day pictures and night - however, I was wondering where all the new cars were as I had walked a few times on the top floor and there was still space left.

So I thought it was going all right until I walked down the garage and noticed a lot of space available - and a whole lot of space available as I got to the bottom.

I didn’t think much of it until I was leaving to get some food at Farmer Boys across the street and saw all the cars being blocked from entering the venue.

So I was eating my burger watching the cops chasing unlucky cars they deemed were illegal. The chopper above the area blaring its lights. The people outside waiting for something to happen and my T-Mobile reception full of crap as couldn’t access the Internet.  .

Stancenation SoCal 2017

My first Stancenational SoCal held at the Anaheim Convention Center -  and it was chill. Technically it was my first. Stancenation used to to be with the Showoff Nisei car show a few years ago, but it seems they parted ways.

Gotta interrupt...... man I went through my old pictures and for some reason I’ve decreased the size of the latest pictures in the last few posts and they don’t have that wow factor compared to the old car pictures. Moving forward, I’ll resize to bigger car pictures! Now back to the show - 

The crowd, the music and the cars, all good. There was no loud music blaring from the stage because there was no stage. There was no big crowd of photogs by the model lounge, because there was no model lounge. I didn’t even see any import models either! However, it looks like there were some at the event after I’ve seen some pictures floating around, so there were some there - but not enough to be a center of attraction.

No, this was an event focused on the cars. It felt so much like Showoff Nisei that is held every year in Little Tokyo - but held in doors with better lighting!

The convention center food sucked but at least the water fountains worked, so free water was available! 

Hopefully, the promoters made some money off this car show that it becomes a yearly event!

2017 Nisei Showoff!

742 Racewars LA

It's been awhile since I went to Racewars. So I was really surprised how it has grown since I last visited. It seems to now rival Hot Import Nights, Extreme Autofest, and Autocon in its size and national ambition as Racewars will be in multiple cities like its older cousins. 

I did notice a similarity with Extreme Autofest in that it was a bit raunchy on the stage and some nice skimpy wearing models on the ground floor, which isn't a bad thing! I miss those days of Nighshift, when things got interesting after dark, with portable lasers and lights showcasing body parts jiggling even more fierce on mini stages while the music became a symphony of dueling sounds between car clubs. Where model lounges were still wide open, with a full roster of selected models from the region.

The cars were a mix from all three regions, from Europe, American, Japanese and Korean brands layed out nicely. I liked the fact that cars weren't just lined up like a car parking lot. It's a bitch to take decent pictures when all the cars you see are lined up next to each other and there's no space between them.
