I am astounded at how many people will tell tales of how neurodivergent kids used to be tortured, and act like they're funny stories! It's honestly heartbreaking.

Remember to take a break when you can. Remember to love yourself. Remember to be proud of yourself.

For me, learning I was autistic was the moment I started relearning my limits, and boundaries. I learned to accommodate myself, and found that it helped me endure the outside world more.

Yes it’s more work, but pride is for everyone, it’s needs to be inclusive.

Not doing these things is ableism!

Many autistic people have been hurt by ABA, and evidence of its benefits are limited, but states still spend billions on it. Constant aches I can handle. The pains from just living in this body are in the background for me. It's other pains that send me overboard.

And before my comment section is filled with people saying "Well my experience with ABA was positive," keep in mind that a lot of clinics offering good therapy, that actually helps autistics, label themselves as ABA, not because they're actually ABA, but because that's the only way they'll get government funding, or that your insurance will cover it.
