Hi, I'm Archie!

I didn’t talk as a kid, so my parents were able to get a diagnosis pretty early on. I was only like, four, so I don’t actually remember much. That’s basically the whole story, sorry it isn’t more interesting.

I normally go through phases with songs. Have a few I’ll listen to over and over and then after a few months I’ll gravitate to different songs to stim to. At the moment, I’m mainly listening to Me Too by Megan Trainor, Candy Girl by the Pussycats, Radioactive by Imagine Dragons and Give Your Heart a Break by Demi Lovato. All really pop and predictable but what can I say, I like what I like, and pop songs are repetitive which is excellent for stimming.

It kinda depends on the friend. Pops? Definitely a Jughead thing. Studying is a Betty thing. Movie nights and sleepovers are a gang thing. There can be up to seven of us if everyone is there. Though sometimes we do have smaller movie nights, Jug, Cheryl and Ronnie don’t like action movies, so when we wanna watch those it’s just me, Kev, Bets and Reg.

Reg and I like doing what Jug calls “bro stuff”, football, going to the gym, seeing movies with bad plots.

Kev, Ronnie and I like going shopping together. We don’t shop for the same kinds of things, but we like doing it all the same.

When Juggie learnt sign language to be able to talk to me better, that was probably the coolest moment of my life.

I will probably forever be thankful to Kevin for introducing me to Voyager. Harry Kim is the cutest character I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching???

This one’s a bit silly, but my favourite memory with Betty is just us sharing purple slushies as kids. We were poking our tongues out at each other after every sip trying to see how coloured our tongues got. Then we pushed each other on the swings.

Ronnie… Ronnie taught me what being bisexual means. The thing you have to understand about Riverdale is that it’s small, it’s so, so small. Tiny. We had the concept of gay and straight here, but we didn’t know there were any other… Options. I haven’t told her how much it meant to me for her to tell me that there was more, I haven’t told anyone. I’m working on it, though.

Josie, Val and Mel are just joys to be around every time we hang out. I love performing with them, even if it’s just us rehearsing stuff.

Reggie and I went and saw The Force Awakens together. He bought the snacks and went all out, and didn’t show he was bored once as I info dumped the movie all over again once it was over.

I actually really like pop music! Those totally cheesy top 40 songs are catchy for a reason, right? Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and Little Mix are some of my favourites. I grew up on classic rock because that’s what my dad likes. So I really like that stuff as well. The GOTG movies spiked my interest in that music again so I’ve been listening to some more of it, much to the relief of my dad. As for playing, I just play what I like. I don’t really have a preference for that.

As I said before, when I’m stressed, I pace and write music. But when I get really overwhelmed and I’m not in a place to be able to decipher my emotions I have a really heavy blanket I like to lie under for pressure stimming. If Juggie or Betty are around they help with the pressure stimming thing by lying on top of me.

When I’m stressed out, most times I find myself pacing and hand flapping. Once I have the stimming out of my system I work on putting my emotions to music. I generally only feel the need to do that when I’m feeling really bad.

I’ve been writing a lot lately.

I love flapping my hands!! Also bouncing when I’m very excited. Also those spiny toys that suddenly got really popular are saving my life in class, I’ve never been so focused.

Kevin’s autistic too and we all know Jug has something, he says so himself, but he doesn’t have the money to get a proper diagnosis, so we’re not exactly sure what.

I kinda sorta had one on Juggie at one point? I think? But after he came out to me as aroace I let myself grow out of it.
