Went into "Carmilla" knowing that the internet says that the titular vampire is a lesbian and figured that was just the internet being it's horney self, but, boy, were they spot on! Only four chapters in and it is nigh impossible to not see it.

For those original Homestuck fans complaining that the pilot was made by Spindlehorse and that it would bring "weird" Hazbin Hotel fans into the fandom, do you not remember that this is how the entire internet felt about you during the comic's run? We all remember the stories of horrible cosplayer behavior at restaurants, people shouting about buckets, an the notorious Sharpie bathtub incident. As a Homestuck fan myself, its fine if you didn't like the pilot, but remember the next that you're pointing at Hazbin fans saying, "look at those freaks," you're pointing at a mirror.
Just watched Bram Stroker's Dracula for the first time.
Five minutes in and can tell that the theme of the day is overly dramatic.
They did Lucy dirty in this adaptation.
Wow, they did Mina REALLY dirty in this adaptation.
That was an . . . interesting ending.
Anyone else feel like the Romani transporting Dracula didn't even want to be there? When their leader pointed to the setting sun and then at the castle, it's as if he was saying they had to deliver the box before nightfall so that they could be long gone by the time Dracula awoke.
Can we all just stop for a moment to give a Isabel Adomakoh Young a round of applause for her reading of Mina Harker today? Bravo!

Jonathan Sims as Jack Seward was perfect casting. The TMA stans weren't lying.
This is basically my third time reading Dracula and I'm still not sure if Dracula commanded the wolf to attack the window or full on yeeted the poor beast into it.
Equally funny is a wolf battering ram.
I have to admit, that Western melody to introduce Quincey Morris was a stoke of genius. I can't tell if it's more dramatic or funny.
Today we get to the part of the novel were everyone screws up because no one talks to each other.
Another great thing about Re: Dracula is that I would never in a million years have imagined that Dr. van Helsing sounds like that, despite being explicitly told that he is from the Netherlands.

The day has come! We finally get to hear Quincey P. Morris speak in RE: Dracula and it does not disappoint. Marvelous.
Entire board resigns over actions of academic publisher whose profit margins outstrip even Google and Amazon
More than 40 leading scientists have resigned en masse from the editorial board of a top science journal in protest at what they describe as the âgreedâ of publishing giant Elsevier.
The entire academic board of the journal Neuroimage, including professors from Oxford University, Kingâs College London and Cardiff University resigned after Elsevier refused to reduce publication charges.
Academics around the world have applauded what many hope is the start of a rebellion against the huge profit margins in academic publishing, which outstrip those made by Apple, Google and Amazon.
Neuroimage, the leading publication globally for brain-imaging research, is one of many journals that are now âopen accessâ rather than sitting behind a subscription paywall. But its charges to authors reflect its prestige, and academics now pay over ÂŁ2,700 for a research paper to be published. The former editors say this is âunethicalâ and bears no relation to the costs involved.
Professor Chris Chambers, head of brain stimulation at Cardiff University and one of the resigning team, said: âElsevier preys on the academic community, claiming huge profits while adding little value to science.â
He has urged fellow scientists to turn their backs on the Elsevier journal and submit papers to a nonprofit open-access journal which the team is setting up instead.
He told the Observer: âAll Elsevier cares about is money and this will cost them a lot of money. They just got too greedy. The academic community can withdraw our consent to be exploited at any time. That time is now.â
Elsevier, a Dutch company that claims to publish 25% of the worldâs scientific papers, reported a 10% increase in its revenue to ÂŁ2.9bn last year. But itâs the profit margins, nearing 40%, according to its 2019 accounts, which anger academics most. The big scientific publishers keep costs low because academics write up their research â typically funded by charities and the public purse â for free. They âpeer reviewâ each otherâs work to verify it is worth publishing for free, and academic editors collate it for free or for a small stipend. Academics are then often charged thousands of pounds to have their work published in open-access journals, or universities will pay very high subscription charges.

Today we are introduced to our main missus Mina Murray.
While we are enjoying this years Dracula book club, can we all just take a moment to appreciate how excellent the soundscaping is in the new Re:Dracula? The artists really blew it out of the water. Well done!

Here we must say farewell to Quincey "Yee-Haw" Morris. May you ride swiftly into the eternal sunset.
