I can tell my meds arent working and depressed again because I've been drinking a lot and the only anime I wanna watch is Evangelion, but fuck it hits different ever since my mom passed away.

Like, the idea of Shinji watching his mother be absorbed into the Eva, Asuka finding her mom's body with a doll hanging beside it, those sort of things fuck you up in the brain they change you in a certain way and these were young children experiencing this - I was the only one who was sober during the time to do my mom's cedar bath before her cremation, she was post-autopsy though so my last physical image of her was of her corpse stitched closed and it's had me fucked up and i'm probably forever altered by the experience - I'm 30 and different, and Asuka and Shinji were only children.

Happy 30th Birthday to Me!

I had a really great birthday this year; I woke up to a birthday voice note from my God Son (we have the same birthday), had brunch with an old friend, family dinner at my aunt'a with Chinese Food (note: my dad wasn't there, which actually enhances the experience), and I got drunk on the phone with one of my best friends for two hours.

It might sound small, and I've heard that the milestone birthday was supposed to be big. But I honestly think the biggest thing I could've done is be surrounded and loved by the people I love most.
