Imagine if democracy was actually an integral part of everyday life and not just a liberal buzzword for bourgeois electoral politics

I remember one time I was arguing with a man who said that in every situation there ALWAYS had to be an authority figure bc “what if two employees couldn’t come to an agreement?” After trying to explain that the idea of two people on a team with a common goal and ability to discuss with third parties would never really have this issue and if they did they probably shouldn’t have that job, he INSISTED that there had to be a big boss who could come in and settle things.
