Aiden slow blinks at his brother, it's nearly comical. August looks back at him confused and this is when Aiden's patience begins to run thin. It's not his brother's fault, it's Aiden's own brain not understanding why his brother doesn't see the issue here. It feels obvious as a clear day and yet August is giving out fact about Luci for free.
"I can't be having a crush on the Princess of the entire country, August," Aiden says, his tone flat as he stares at August for another. "I'm fairly certain it's illegal," he adds, trying for humour but his voice isn't matching the concern lines on his face. He glances around but no one is near them anyway, the music and conversations take up the air.
He sighs, "Please just acknowledge that this is completely delusional to make me feel better, then say whatever August-logic you'd like."
August chews on the inside of his cheek, trying not to laugh because Aiden's hysterics are...actually not funny. But like,
"Aiden. It's not illegal to have a crush on a princess." He shakes his head, "Besides, Elijah is super cool? Modern in a lot of his practices as King. Like...if this becomes a real thing? I don't think he'd have a lot of negative things to say about it." He breathes in, looking over at Luci as she ends another dance and glides across the floor to get a glass of wine.
"The only thing I'd like to remind you about is that...Luci, while a princess, is still a person. And it makes total sense for you to have a crush on her...besides, who says it's one-sided?" He raises his eyebrows.
