After a moment Violet turned to August knowing something was up. The way he was sitting and how stiff he was in general. Putting her hand on his thigh she rubbed his leg soothingly as she just waited for him to say something as it all clicked in her head on where they were and why what was happening was happening. “Of course.” She whispered and nodded as he spoke she hopped to the other side knocking on the separation. “Excuse me, would you mind just stopping for a moment.” She asked at the man nodded pulling the horses to a stop and she moved back over to August. “I’m right here alright?”
Honestly, August hadn’t wanted this to affect him as much as it was. It was the feeling, the air around him, that made him feel so much anxiety and remember how he stood there on the ledge. Anything could have tipped him over and that was terrifying now. He would have never met Violet and lived the life he had begun to live already. Blindly he searched for her hand, taking it into his own and squeezing her hand tightly. Without words, he left the carriage and pulled her with him, touching the ledge of the bridge in a particular place and looking over the edge as the waves crashed against the pillars. “Right here,” He whispered quietly, a little scared as he looked up to find her. August was shaking, his brain felt fried from the anxiety. “I’m terrified.”
