I guess with any pet there will be a minority that will be extreme about it in some case. At least you know she loves them and they aren’t being treated poorly I guess? Having a gigantic fish tank would be pretty awesome but I have no idea how you would achieve it without being in contact with the aquarium. I feel like they would be the professionals on this.

I guess that’s true? But still, I don’t think someone her age should spend so much time on her dogs. I mean, I know she’s lonely, but she’s spent most of her life taking care of her children. I just feel it’s time for someone to take care of her, you know what I mean? Well, I’m sure it’s not hard? If you know which fish you want, what type of water it breathes better in, a really big pool, and lots of money for food, then you’re golden! But of course, it’s always better to question a professional on it.

Puppies and kittens are really adorable, theres no way anyone can fight it.  Why did you Gran make you like kittens more? I’m sure her puppies weren’t that bad.  Fish are cool pets.  My uncle had an underground pool in his backyard that he never cleaned so he put some gold fish in the pool and eventually it grew all green and gross but I have honestly never seen goldfish so big in my life.  The teddy bear might not die on you but you might die on it.  

Oh, cause I see how much they take a toll on her, and how much attention and care they need. I swear they're like little humans. I think she would have been better off with no pets at all, but too late now. That actually sounds cool, having a giant fish tank in your backyard. I want one now! Nope! Cause once I die, he comes with me.

Yeah, I see cats as less responsibility but they are extremely intelligent animals.  But then again, dogs are extremely loyal and are really good pets if they’re bought up in the right way… I don’t know.  I love both animals.  If you want little to no responsibility then you could always get a fish? 

I know that dogs are more intelligent than cats, but I think both species can be loyal and intelligent. I love both animals too, but my gran sort of made me like cats a little more now. However, I'm sure if someone gave me a puppy, I'd totally accept it. I've had several fishes and hamsters as pets, and I even had a lady bug as a "pet" before, but they all died from old age or ran. My favorite "pet" is my teddy bear since he'll never die on me.

Cats are very self reliant and are very hygienic, too.  Whereas dog you have to go and bathe them yourself.  As fun as that sounds, I would rather not.  I’m sure Hoshi would very much appreciate it.  

Exactly! I've never understood how my grandmother adores her puppies when she has to take care of them 24/7. Cats are just so much better in my opinion. I mean, dogs are pretty cute too, but I just think they're a bigger responsibility. Yeah, it's not fun. Unless you can trust your dog not to run away when using the hose, then you'd have to use the bathtub and get inside with them and it's just a mess. I'm sure she would! I don't think anyone likes being sat on.

Watching August take out his hearing aids he made a mental note to try and remind him about it later to put them back in but something told him he wouldn’t really have to.  He thought briefly about how it must have become like clock work to put them on in the morning and take them off at night and always being aware of them.  Watching August play the instrument was another story.  For him simply watching it was like August never was hearing impaired.  As Rhyder looked on, seeing the light in his eyes brighten as he could feel the music was something he had never seen before. 

August listened to Rhyder explain when he had gotten the theremin and how he learned to play it, finding out that it was a birthday gift and that he had learned to play it all on his own. The younger boy had never played an instrument in his life, but he was sure that it took lots of time and practice to master one, and he found himself completely fascinated by those who were able to teach themselves how to play since he was sure that learning it on your own was even harder than taking lessons. “That’s really cool,” August exclaimed with a wide smile. “I admire people who are able to teach themselves how to play an instrument, or really teach themselves to do anything in general. I think it’s a good test of character. You know? Seeing if you have the determination and willpower to continue on your own. So I think it’s cool that you’ve been able to do that.”

Oh yeah, dogs barking is the worst.  At least kittens sleep as much as they play whereas dog just want to play and run and case everything all the time.  You can cat-sit as much as you want as long as you don’t actually sit on her, I have a feeling she won’t appreciate it very well.  

Yeah, I think dogs are a bigger responsibility than cats since cats pretty much take care of themselves, other than feeding themselves. I promise not to sit on Hoshi. You have my word.

I love cats, too.  They’re really good animals to keep you company.  Well honestly, I didn’t.  Aiden found her so I let Aiden name her.  Apparently Hoshi means star in Japanese.  

They are! Plus, they don't bark. I've been told a dog's bark can be quite annoying. Can't speak from experience, though. Oh, really? I didn't know that. That's a cute name. Will you let me meet her one day and let me cat sit?
