the film we've been working on since 2021 is finally premiering at the breakouts section of slamdance this february 2026! 😭 watch the trailer here!
please watch if you're in LA!
I would post more kaso nakakawalang gana tong mga streaming services na to that won't let you freakin screencap.
Also, just when medyo iniisip ko na na bumalik sa panonood ng Hong, bigla akong napunta sa Kim-Min-Hee-kabit-tok so bumalik na naman yung inis ko kay Hong tangina mo sobrang sama ng ugali mo gago ka sana makarma ka.
Sarap Mong Patayin (Darryl Yap, 2021)
There is a nihilism in this film that is markedly different from mere cynicism or pessimism found in most indie Filipino films today. Honestly, it surprised me and I don't remember if I ever saw something like it in Philippine cinema before.
anyone knows how to take screenshots on the criterion channel?? this is so annoying...

me to myself: but you said you'd die for me
Pola X (Leos Carax, 1999) 4/5
I have to say the sex scene was... special. Like my god... bring back sex in movies.....
Also, fucking tumblr won't allow me to post sex scenes from the movie BOO... bring back sex on tumblr!!
hindi ko alam kung anong meron but istg i will literally ruin myself for a libra
One Fine Morning (Mia Hansen-Løve, 2022) 3.5/5
Mia casting Rohmer’s actors can not be a coincidence! It’s her Rohmer film!
Sleepless (Dario Argento, 2001) 4.5/5
I was so pleasantly surprised that Max von Sydow was in this!! And he was so terrific! I also really liked the character Lorenzo played by Roberto Zibetti. One of the more memorable Argento characters, for sure. And props to Franco Ferrini... I’ve only recently noticed that my favorite Argentos were written by him. People really don’t talk much about this film but honestly, this is top 5 Argento for me. I hope people go beyond Suspiria because I mean this is the era where he supposedly fell off but looking at it, I really don’t think he fell off at any point. He has an impressively solid filmography imo.

Hard Labour (Mike Leigh, 1973)
Liz Smith’s character makes me so sad. I feel like I’ll remember her forever. 😔
Watched on the Criterion Channel.
Ginger Snaps (John Fawcett, 2000) 3.5/5
finally... a movie that understands and respects female pain!!
Last Romance (Yonfan, 1989) 3.5/5
and they were roommates... 🙃
this was like one move away from being an iconic sapphic asian film but they were like NOPE the reason she’s been single all her life is because she’s in love with her best friend....’s boyfriend.... ok. so they made maggie cheung super masc for nothing??? what was the reason??
Nocebo (Lorcan Finnegan, 2022) 4/5
i have to admit i thought this was gonna be terrible because of the trailer so i was pleasantly surprised to find out this film was not how i thought it was gonna be. the horror parts were kind of derivative and tired... it was giving a24 but i think the dramatic parts elevated and saved the film. it's one of those eat the rich sort of films that's trendy nowadays but it's not as annoying? lol... chai fonacier was amazing!! turns out there really was no issue with the accent.
this got me thinking about how filipino filmmakers are sometimes criticized for being unable to imagine an ending or an outcome outside of the current reality... and then i thought about the ending of this film and triangle of sadness and thought... tangina it’s so easy for white filmmakers??? hahaha i mean, of course it is
Decision to Leave (Park Chan-wook, 2022) 4/5
omg tang wei wtf...........
anyway, filmmakers as detectives themselves… investigating human relationships… pretending to be in pursuit of truth but really just want to have the perfect excuse to openly obsess over women… as if they’re not betraying their wives every time they make a film… or sm idk
also, i love the hitchcockian filmmakers but don’t care for hitchcock himself???

Triangle of Sadness (Ruben Östlund, 2022) 2/5
Maybe some people would say I should’ve watched it in the theaters because I would’ve liked it more because it would’ve been more fun or whatever... well, first of all, I hate having fun loljk... and I really don’t think so because I watched Parasite in the theaters and I was miserable. I can’t stand these eat the rich films! They’re so boring to me and I get the feeling that the directors are always so pleased with themselves. Dolly De Leon supremacy tho!! Get that Oscar sis!! Btw, I thought what if they put like a rich Filipino character in the yacht... I think the dynamics could be interesting.
Portrait of a Young Girl at the End of the 60s in Brussels (Chantal Akerman, 1994) 5/5
what the FUCK... i was not prepared... one of the best 1 hour films!! a minor film that feels MAJOR. everyone's said it but the party scene... you have to see it. i loved that chantal used the style of the male-dominated french new wave filmmakers and then like, subverted it and made it queer. i also loved that it’s very specific about how it’s a period film set in the 60s and then randomly the male character pulls out a CD hwahahaha
watched on youtube in 360p btw but it doesn’t matter coz it’s that good
