Childish Gambino has been hinting at a new record for a little while now: Could this be it? Amazing shift in direction from what we usually hear from Childish. I, for one, feel like this is EXACTLY what we need right now. -Anthony

The piano is quiet, meditative. The vocals are throaty and almost coy. It's in the vein of the somber moments of John Cale or Nick Cave. And it's all too short. Or maybe it's just right, thanks to mastercrafting of Brooklyn-based Wharfer. -Dylan

The biggest and most atmospheric of a fledgling artist’s early work, “Wanting” still has plenty of quiet moments, gaps dominated by Gordi’s deep, rippling vocals. Gradually, the room fills with synths and auto-tuned echoes of herself, a la Imogen Heap. -Dylan

Angel Olsen is back. Sure, the single is on the louder end of her spectrum, but it's got all the working parts that made her still-smoldering first a smash -- retro-almost-country warble, grungy guitar and lovelorn feelings. Sophomore album, MY WOMAN, is out Sept. 2. -Dylan

Breezy and irreverent, a pair of sisters from London tell stories about binges, benders and bad times that just can't seem to keep them -- or their harmonic indie-pop -- down. Wonderfully, so much of new record Sweettooth is a joyous sing-a-long for the disaffected. -Dylan

Steve Gun continues to keep his guitar noodling delightfully al dente. Finding the sound of far-off desert winds in the middle of the city, "Park Bench Smile" will not disappoint fans and neither will now-available album Eyes on the Lines. -Dylan

It's been 5 years since the electronic duo Justice has unveiled anything new. While this track "Safe and Sound" uses some of the same old tricks, the fat bass line is what's getting me through the day. It's also safe to say there is a new Justice record on the horizon. - Anthony Saia

While I'm not a huge fan of lyric videos, I'm a fan of St. Paul and the Broken Bones. Here they are with their new song "All I Even Wonder" from their forthcoming record Sea of Noise out September 9th. -Anthony

It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from Russian Circles - almost 3 years to be exact. Now, picking up where they left off with 2013’s Memorial, the band have debuted “Mota,” a track from their forthcoming record Guidance due out on August 5th. Crank it!

Phantom Chatter is a Texas psychedelic-rock/dream-pop band. The band's sound is heavy and overwhelming while still keeping an airy, dream-like vibe. -Adrian

The downtrodden electronica moves delicately, weaving gentle synth changes, soft beats and vocals sung from the far side of a cold cave. The whole thing seems to be made while walking on broken "Glass." EP Please Recycle featuring "Plastic", "Paper", "Metal" and "Waste" is out now. -Dylan

Late-night electronica as billed, "4AM" is, like the rest of Vessels new record, chock full of excellent swoons and shifts in synths. Dilate is out now. -Dylan

Vivid Low Sky's easy way with slow burning electric guitar and triumphant post-rock can and should form the the foundation of a summer afternoon sometime in the not-too-distant future. New album II is out April 22. -Dylan

So smooth it's borderline frictionless. Between the acid lounge synth and vocals that feel like foreplay, "The Heartbreaker" finds the Pheels toying with our emotions, oh so wonderfully. -Dylan

Sure, it's more rootsy folk from some a city boy, but that damn voice. No matter how hard you might try to fight against it, the scratchy, beatiful bullfrog burrows its way deep into your head and heart. This track is not included on EP Texas Girls and Jesus Christ out now, but is representative of the accoustic guitar and tales of woe perfect that are sure to woo fans of The Tallest Man on Earth et al. -Dylan

It might at first sound like alternative rock safely rolling back the years, but there is intrigue and just enough danger wrought in the almost-deadpan doom Heaven's Jail. Widow's Work maybe a welcome record for fans of the National or maybe even Interpol, is out May 6. -Dylan

It's seeming all in the Danish crew's name. The reckless, grinning abandon of youth oozes out on the first taste of, fittingly, A Youthful Dream. Yung take their bruising punk tinged with just the right dose of melody full-length June 10. -Dylan
