What do you think it is?
The private view on Friday 24th will feature a part of Liliana's installation which is for one night only...
http://laveneno.org/lilianasanchez/index.php?/projects/soupa-/
Daniel Jone's Piece, a sneaky peak. Here is what Daniel say's about the work:
'Bacterial organisms exhibit a trait that is unique within the living world... bacteria are able to exchange genetic information with their neighbours, via packets of DNA known as 'plasmids'. This enables bacteria to temporarily adopt characteristics which may give them a competitive advantage in a hostile environment... rise to complex evolutionary patterns.
"Horizontal Transmission" (2011) simulates these dynamics in a 3D space, representing populations of cells both visually and sonically. When sound is detected from the gallery space by the attached microphone, it is transformed into a plasmid and deposited in the virtual space.'
Weekend
Had a great weekend, meetings with Caroline, Daniel and Liliana in preparation for install this week. I am very excited about seeing the show together. And I enjoyed open studios at Core. There is quite a buzz about!
Here is a sneaky peak of my new piece inspired by Gray's Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory of Personality I have made through many discussions with psychologist Kaidy Stautz. He has just given me a great idea to finish it off!
The tracing paper in the work gives it the blurry look, as indeed the theory is not clear cut and still being researched....

I had a sneak preview of Paula Salischiker's collages. These are real brain scans. She has research how we understand different areas in the brain to function. This has inspired the imagery and texture used. This is a work in progress, final piece will be on display from the 24th June.
