Gem Forms

I think it would be an interesting concept that the Hearts would kind of be like some sort of life cycle. The gem form, which is the dormant form, is like an egg.

All that mana is contained in a shell that is impenetrable to most attacks.

Even though they are dormant, they can still react to their environment. Such as hearing voices around them and they can respond if they wish.

Human-like Forms are Vessels

The human body the Hearts take form of allow them to interact with the incubi on a more physical way. It would be hard to just be a rock that floats around, it gets especially lonely when they can see others walk past without knowing the Hearts can talk.

So, they all took a human form to make things easier. Now that they can walk, they can manage the domain much easier than just standing still.

Their forms are eventually copied by the incubi that live with them. It was an eventual transformation that shifted biology due to the magic and influence of the Hearts.

The Dragon Form

A form they only used once during the war, it is where the Hearts unshackle their containd magic. No longer hiding behind a vessel, they pulsate magic so much that it would be too much to bear for mortals.

But this form also leaves them exposed, now that their weak spot is no longer covered by a vessel. It's a glass cannon kind of form.

The incubi who lived throug hthe war would often depict these forms in artworks to remind them of their sacrifice. But also to revere them with worship.

Heartslabyul - Rospina the Flaming Thorn

When the domain of the Rose incubi have fallen to the humans, their beautiful gardens were destroyed and burned to ashes. The survivors struggled against their injuries to run from the invaders.

A shower of spears rained down upon them, but were burned to cinders by mere inches. They gazed upon the Heart of Fire Opal as they shed their human form.

A large chrysalis stood between them and the humans before the creature emerged from inside.

Burning red wings bearing the markings of eye spots intimidated the humans. The creature let out a shrill cry before flapping it's wings, sending red flames across the land.

Any flame that touched the humans would incinerate flesh.

Any flame that touched the demons would relieve the pain from their wounds.

Gaze upon the crimson monarch, all they will see is red.

Savanaclaw - Referox the Savage Claw

The day those humans dared to approach the savanna, the Beast incubi were itching to spill blood. But the Heart of Amber gave them one firm order... "Don't engage"

They wanted to protest, but the gaze in their eyes kept them glued to their spot. Within mere seconds they watched the Heart as they took on a beastly form.

A monster with sharp fangs and claws. Humans believed they could overcome them with their numbers.

But they forget that they are not fighting a mindless beast.

They are fighting a beast who knows how to fight.

Soon, their numbers dwindled as fast as raindrops. Their weapons and strategies were useless against the beast as it cruely toyed with them. The humans' bravado shifted into panic, further driving them into the corner.

From afar, the beast incubi watch and cackle at how pathetic they were. These foolish humans couldn't stay calm and build a counterattack once something incomprehensible disrupts their logic.

Good. They should fear the beast they cannot understand.

There will be only one who will leave this battlefield unscathed, the feral beast of the savanna.

Octavinelle - Oceamors the Atlantis Medusa

The waters are no longer unreachable, no longer a safe space away from invaders as the poison was dropped into the sea.

The Mer incubi that dwelled in the waters wailed in pain as their gills became contaminated with the poison.

But then long glowing tendrils wrapped around them, enveloping their writhing forms in a comforting embrace. The pain goes away as the sky dimmed when a shadow cast over their sea.

They gaze upon the Aquamarine Heart as it sheds their human form. Becoming a large creature resembling a jellyfish. Their large bell covered the demons like a shelter.

The humans foolishly thought they can just breach it, it was just soft tissue, or so they say. Unaware that beneath the waves, the tides began to swirl into a vortex.

Their glorious vessels were turned over by the raging waters, as they fell down the glowing tendrils were a web of death to every mortal who got ensnared.

The Mer incubi's protector annihilated the intruders without moving a muscle.

The sea is their home.

The sea is their sanctuary.

Those who dared to destroy it would drown in the tides and perish with no glory.

Be wary of the siren of the sea.

Scarabia - Aurumarden the Radiant Scarab

When the humans have breached the home of the Treasure incubi, seeking to claim their lives and their possessions, they face the Heart of Sunrise Ruby.

They shed their human form and emerge as a beast covered in gold. Foolish humans who dove into their piles of treasure suddenlyfind themselves in a trap.

The coins they greedily pocketed became quicksand as the whole domain began to shift. The Heart created the domain, so it will change their home into a weapon.

Every human melted into the gold and became nothing but statues. Representations of their greed and folly, a failed attempt at raiding a cave of wonders.

While the Treasure incubi hid above, observing the carnage below. Not a hint of mercy towards the greedy mortals who dared to take what it theirs.

Trespassers are not welcome in their golden halls.

Anyone who tries will disappear and become a collection in this endless desert.

Pomefiore - Avisveni the Venom Wing

The beautiful halls of the Peacock incubi's estate were destroyed, their splendid tapestries and priceless ornaments left on the ground shattered and torn.

Humans drove them into their estate and sought to burn them all. They cackled viciously as they readied their weapons to slaughter the clan.

But the sky darkened and a melodic cry echoed through the estate halls. The roof was torn open, they look to the sky as the form of the Heart of Iolite glared at the humans with a seething gaze.

The humans watch in horror as they transform into a giant creature with wings so large it blocks the sun.

A shower of black powder rained upon the mortals. It was then they realized that death has come for them. Upon contact, their skin burned like fire, they scratched and tore themselves open just to stop the pain.

That left them open to being sliced by the sharp talons of the creature. Within mere moments, the humans stained the halls red with their own hubris.

The venomous beauty hides their most venomous weapons.

By the time they darken the skt, it is all too late. Breaths will still and blood congeal.

Beware the venom of the dark wings.

Ignihyde - Umbracapi the Shade Hydra

They breached into the underworld. Every Shadow incubus went into hiding, hoping they won't be found and killed. And amidst all the chaos, the Heart of Schorl couldn't watch them fear for their lives anymore.

Even if this form was not powerful to kill armies, they can at least try to save as many demons in the domain.

A large shadowy creature emerged from the bottom of the underworld. Several heads with glowing eyes gazed down at the humans. A form so incomprehensible to the human mind, it would hopefully scare them off.

But the brave ones who dared to face the beast would soon realize it was not that big of a threat.

That may be the fate destined for them, but even then they will still fight to the bitter end.

Even if their own soul joins the dead in the end.

Diasomnia - Lunae the Moonlit Dragon

Once the six domains have fallen and the armada of mankind comes knocking at the walls of the last standing domain.

The Dragon incubi stand at the ready to await the command of their Heart. But the Heart of Zircon commanded them to flee. Flee with any survivor from the domains and never look back.

Their protests were met with a tailwind so strong it sent them far away from the onslaught. They watched as their Heart became a white dragon with wings that glow off the moonlight.

A creature radiating pure magical energy ready to seal the fate of the humans who dared to trespass this island.

As the moon shines from above, the dragon sends out a final cry. A farewell and an apology.

The fleeing survivors wept withgrief as the silhouette of the dragon shatters into pieces.

With a final blast of magic, the war was over...

But the denizens will grieve for years to come...
