Building a website is easy, they said, and while I do agree that building a website is easy, I, of course, needed to make a series of decisions that completely blew the scope out of proportion.
Well, I thought, what would i put on my website? Personal posts maybe, like an independent blog? But that means when I add a post, id have to go in and edit the html file! Thats so annoying!
Also, what happens when the file gets too bif to load quickly? That would be a bas user experience! Can't have that of course.
So, in all my infinite wisdom and with exactly no clue how to accomplish literally anything of the sort, I set out to construct my completely own backend with a database of all my posts, an API to be able to read it from the internet and create new posts, and a website with some scripting to dynamic edit the html file after loading to insert posts from the API.
After at this point several months of flailing around an throwing random javascript at my problems, I have the backend in a working state that I am happy with. Its nothing sophisticated and I consider it only a minimum viable product, but it sure does work.
Problem is the website itself is just a few funny colored boxes without any fancy formatting. God I love web development.
There is still so much to do.
