In my local production of Jesus Christ Superstar, important characters have multiple actors that switch in it, and I don't think there's a way to know who you're gonna get before you get there.

I gotta see it the third time someday, because while I've seen both Jesuses, both Pilates, both Peters, 2/3 Marys, I've seen just one Judas. And I really wanna see how the other guy does it. From the photos, he looks a little softer than the Judas I've seen, but since it's the same theater, the acting his gonna mostly be the same, probably?

... Tbh, I mainly wanna see whether he also sleazily crawls to Mary and leans onto her during Strange Thing, Mystifying. (and whether he's just also so openly annoyed at Jesus right from the start)

Reading fanfiction with Winston Payne as a side character is a fucking Russian roulette.

Either I get a surprisingly pleasant and sympathetic portrayal that ends up amongst the highlights of the fic for me, as a big fan of the character, or, he's there to be mean and/or annoying, get Epically Dunked On™ by the rest of the cast and then fuck off.

And I have no way of knowing which is it gonna be.

I wish "bashing" tags were used in the Ace Attorney fandom, and he wasn't such a common character to bash that people would tag it.

The staging of my local production of Jesus Christ Superstar is pretty minimalist in some parts, which results in one really funny moment - during the Last Supper, after Jesus and Judas have that big argument and Judas storms off, they meet outside the supper room, right?

Well. In this production, there is no outside. The only "outside" is behind the door leading to the end of the stage. Meaning, after Jesus yells at him to get out, Judas just returns to the table silently, only to then, right there again, tell Jesus that things have gone out of hand for him.

"ffs Jesus I wanna finish my dinner" this Judas probably

For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.

Once inside the chamber, Democratic representatives continued to stand together with arms linked.

They continued standing together with arms linked as votes were cast.

Democratic representatives take a group photo protesting the redistricting.

Rep. Justin Jones burns a photo of the Confederate flag with the words, We will not go back.

And stomps the ashes.

Additional information: State lawmakers have been gunning for Pearson and Jones nearly their entire terms. Most notably, in 2023, the House expelled them for participating in a protest at the Capitol. Their districts had to have special elections to have them reinstated.

Pearson is one of the plaintiffs of a lawsuit seeking an injunction against the redistricting.

The city most affected by the redistricting is Memphis, where locals are fighting against xAI's data center, which has been operating with very little oversight and is poisoning the people who live there. Here is a previous post on that with more information and more sources.
