She stays frozen in the doorway for a moment, staring at Maze and her absolute audacity. āWhat the hell are you doing?!ā
At first glance, she isnāt sure if a single damn thing is still where she left it. Shit. Tyler darts across the hotel room, swiftly grabbing a notebook from under her pillow and clutching it protectively to her chest, glaring daggers at the woman. āYou canāt justā What is wrong with you?!ā
Her eyebrows shoot upwards at the raised voice, lips pursing in amusement while watching the other assess the damage. "There is actually a lot wrong with me, thank you for asking." There is a cheer in her voice and the question is treated like a basic how are you. "What's wrong with you?" Hiding things in and around a bed? Bad move, that was always the first object that caught her attention and curiosity. She nods at the notebook. "I only peaked at the first page, it was.. interesting." Linda had been telling her to mind her boundaries though, so she had spent minutes fighting with herself not to look further.
The smell of vampire upon the red-headed woman was unmistakable to Eva. Though she was only half vampire, her senses were still heightened enough to be able to recongise the smell. And with that also came a sense of alertness: was this woman a threat or was she just an innocent vampire passing through by Mystic Falls? The thought almost caused Eva to scoff. Since when was any vampire who dropped by Mystic Falls ever 'innocent'?
Annoyance pooled her features at the enquiry of her family. Great, Eva huffed internally, lips pursing. Of course there had to be some family drama dumped on her doorstep just as Damon and Stefan decided to run off on another wild goose chase.
"I must be. Unfortunately." Eva replied, the latter half muttered under her breath. "And you are?" She raised a single eyebrow, arms folding across her chest. In all truth, she really didn't care. Most especially when the woman made it clear it was Damon she was seeking. "Well, considerin' I'm hopin' he's face down in a ditch somewhere with a stake through his chest ... never."
Sage steps a little closer, her eyes narrowing suspiciously at the defensive reaction. Must be some family history if a simple question triggered this kind of response. The vampire tried her best not to take it personally. She folded her arms, taking note of her appearance and scars without comment and without visible reaction. It was none of her business. "I'm Sage, but judging from the size of Damon's ego these days I doubt he has ever mentioned me." They had fun at some point in time, she would not deny it, but she did not consider him a friend either. It had been interesting to learn how he met Katherine. It was no suprise at all he resided in this town with another doppelganger. Enough about him though, she was curious about the girl that had not appeared on her radar until today. "And who might you be? I know for a fact you were not around yet in 1912."
Chloe finished up the last of her paperwork and reached for another case file, only to realize that there were none left. She'd gone through all the paperwork and finished it. That hadn't happened in years. The last time she'd been caught up on her paperwork was four years ago before....a lump rose in Chloe's throat as she realized that the last time was five years ago. A year before Lucifer came into her life. She frustratedly blinked back tears threatening to form. She was so tired of crying. Lucifer was gone. He wasn't coming back. He left to protect her. The least she could do for him was be the detective he knew instead of the crying mess she'd been for the past week.
Her phone rang interrupting her thoughts. "Decker," she answered and furrowed her brow at what Maze was saying. Since when was babysitting Trixie a favor? Weren't they best friends? Whatever. Unimportant. Instead, she said, "What's going on? What do you need?"

She lifts her chin, eyes darting across the floor below her to keep track of every movement. "I'm cornered. Can't get out." her voice is barely a whisper and then she keeps quiet because a man wanders too close. Maybe she could take them after all? They were only human. But no. She had no clue of the size of this operation. No idea how many more there were in the rest of the building. How heavily armed they were. It would be really nice to have a time manipulating angel around to figure that out with. But tough, they were fresh out of those today. And truly? God knew what was going on here. The cops could help, perhaps prevent them from packing up and leaving without a trace only to continue somewhere else. A process she might have already triggered by showing her face here in the first place. "Do you know the old warehouse buildings at the edge of town? Bring backup. They are armed."

For now, Lucy wanted nothing to do with it. She understood that the witches believed they would be doing good by doing away with some vampires. Vampires were Lucy's people now. There'd never be any denying that fact. She didn't want anyone harmed, be they witches, humans, or vampires.
"I'll think about it -- but my line is harming vampires. You wouldn't like it if someone harmed witches, would you?"
A frown forms, she still had a hard time understanding. And Prue was nothing if not stubborn. Like a dog with a bone, she had a hard time letting go. Especially when the thing she was meant to let go had a good chance of working out. Her eyes narrow at the vampire, as if her stare might convince her to reconsider. "Depends on the witch" she deflects. "Not all witches are good." Quite like the way not all vampires were evil. A sigh escapes her, before she reluctantly agrees. "But I'll wait and think about it, too."

Festival weekend was amazing, but I got a disturbing phone call about a friend not long after I got home. Still really worried about her tbh. But anyway, I do plan to get back to writing this week.
This is a smol hiatus notice. I will be leaving for festival weekend after work on Wednesday and need my time to pack and clean after work tomorrow. I expect to be back on Monday or Tuesday. I will lurk, just don't expect any writing.

The cowards fled as the flames consumed him. She sat on the steps outside the Mystic Grill unable to look anywhere else. Tears flowing freely on their own accord. After all this time, how could this be how it ended? Centuries of patience. Of hoping against hope. And then this? Only weeks after he was released from his prison? Only a couple of days after their reunion? She felt sick, defeated and unable to move. It was Troy that found her, the vampire had been at her side on and off for centuries. He tries to get through to her but she barely hears him. He makes work of securing the body. Putting out the fire and placing him under a sheet. Practical in a way she could not be anymore.
When he moves the body to the car before the cops can get a hold of it, something snaps and she finally gets up. Grief replaced by blind rage. "Stefan is going to pay for this.." she all but growled, speeding off towards the Salvatore boarding house. When she arrived there she couldn't believe the coincidence. Stefan just came storming out and there was no holding her back. She kicked him straight back into the house, the door nearly flying off its hinges in the process. Caroline moves in to attack her but she shoves her away before she gets a chance. "I'm not here for you. I'm here for him." Vampiric features show as she turns on Stefan again. "You better hope your plan failed. You better hope Finn died in vain. Because if the Mikaelsons are still linked, we all die." Her jaw clenches, a murderous look in her eyes. "Well, it's not like it's going to matter for you either way.."

With a tug of the reigns from the driver the horse halts with a soft snort. Its breath condensing into mist in the cold night air. The carriage wheels creek in complaint at the slowing movement. Sage opens the door, setting her sights on a doppelganger for the very first time. She knew the tale of Tatia and now looking at what she must have looked like she understood what had the Mikaelson men so enthralled. "Niklaus is not far. Quick, get in." The white of her eyes flash crimson at the woman, letting her know she is aware of what hunts her. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." The redhead was a vengeful spirit when she wanted to be. And helping the brunette escape this town would soothe at least some her frustrations towards that lunatic family.
