Jack the Ripper
Jack the Ripper was a notorious serial killer who terrorized the streets of London in the late 19th century, specifically in 1888. The reason this case is so famous is that the killer was never caught, so his true identity remains a mystery. What makes the story even more chilling is the gruesome way in which he murdered his victims, primarily women who were prostitutes. He would brutally attack and mutilate them, and the police at the time struggled to bring him to justice.
The mystery of Jack the Ripper has captured the imaginations of people for over a century. Despite countless investigations and theories, the killer's identity has never been conclusively discovered, which adds to the intrigue and makes it one of the most famous unsolved mysteries in the history of crime.
Jack the Ripper is the nickname given to an unidentified serial killer who operated in London's Whitechapel district in the late 19th century, specifically in 1888. The killer was responsible for a series of gruesome murders, primarily targeting female prostitutes. The true identity of Jack the Ripper remains a mystery to this day, and the case remains one of the most famous unsolved mysteries in the history of crime.
There have been numerous conspiracy theories and speculations about the identity of Jack the Ripper. Some of the most popular theories include the idea that he was a doctor or a surgeon due to the precision with which the victims' bodies were mutilated. Others have suggested that he might have been a member of the royal family or a prominent figure in society, with some even proposing that he was an artist or a journalist who used the murders as inspiration for his work. The lack of concrete evidence and the passage of time have allowed for a wide range of conspiracy theories to flourish, but none have been definitively proven, leaving the true identity of Jack the Ripper shrouded in mystery.

Richard Dadd - what did he paint?
Richard Dadd was a 19th-century artist known for his detailed and imaginative paintings of fairies and other creatures. His most famous work is "The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke," which is incredibly detailed.
However, Dadd had a tragic life. He developed mental illness and committed a crime, leading to his confinement in a mental institution. Despite his mental health struggles, he continued to create art, and his fairy paintings are still admired today.
His story is interesting because it sheds light on the history of mental health treatment and the connection between art and mental illness in the 19th century.
Describe one of his fairy paintings - noting the detail, the landscape, the characters and the realism - what happened to Dadd (tip - a heinous crime!)

Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes is a famous fictional detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He's known for being really smart and solving mysteries with his friend Dr. Watson. Over the years, he has been shown differently in old and modern TV and movies.
In older adaptations, Holmes was more formal and focused on solving cases. In modern versions like the BBC's "Sherlock," he's shown as a complex character dealing with personal problems in addition to solving crimes.
There have been many actors who played Holmes, and each brought their own style to the character. Some popular actors who played Holmes include Basil Rathbone and Benedict Cumberbatch.
James Moriarty is one of Holmes's main enemies, a brilliant criminal mastermind who gives Holmes a tough challenge. He's featured in the story "The Final Problem." Moriarty's character can be shown in different ways in various adaptations, but he's always a clever and dangerous opponent for Holmes.
book cover practice
I had a go at making a book cover as practice because I do my final one. I sketched up a Roth quite drawing and imported it onto a actually book.
Photos
once I had finished and finished up my final details (I didn't bother o much with the bits that wouldn't be in the photo) I was ready to photograph it was tricky getting a good angle for the lighting because I kept getting a glare and it riding look nalral I took around 50 phpoes until I had round one I was happy with Rory helped me hold the lights and parishioners my sculpt in the end I messed proud with my phone settings and lowers the amount of light the camera was letting in and that's when I got what was looking for.
I wanted to photo it face on ao that I had the tall tentacles coming up in the centre and framing the creater as well as this it had the best view of the entices and u get to see the head in the centre.
there are more bad photos then good ones and many of the ones I took look like this out of focus and blurry as well as having some kind of glare or issue with the lighting. and that's obesely not ideal because I am using it as my book coer.
thesis are my two farut ics became of the lighting and angle.
book covers
A book cover is the front of a book. It's like the face of a book, and it has a picture or design that tells you what the book is about. It also has the title and the author's name. The cover is what you see first, and it can make you interested in reading the book
Certainly! Book covers interest people in buying them through their visual appeal, which includes colors, images, and fonts that match the book's style and genre. They should create an emotional connection and curiosity, making potential readers want to know more about the story. Familiar author names, clever titles, and positive reviews can also attract buyers. Basically, a great book cover makes people want to pick up the book and discover what's inside.

squid
I was originally looking at octopuses as my designing inspiration but changed it to squid because I prefer there shape it is more structed and tailored for example in comparison to octopuses they have a more sharp look and work better for what I am going for witch is a edgy and intimidating.
Squids are marine cephalopods with eight arms and two long tentacles, typically able to change color.
Squids are one of the most highly developed invertebrates, well adapted to their active, predatory life.
There are more than 300 known species of squid.
Squids have gills just like fish, and every squid features three hearts.
Squids move through the water tail first instead of head first.
The giant squid can grow up to 13 meters long, while the smallest squids such as the pygmy squid usually grow to only around 18 mm long.
Fishermen catch an estimated 2.19 million tons of squid every year.
what i dont want
these are prime examples of what i am not aming to acheve when doing my sculpt.
the grean one isint that bad i just dont like it becasue of the coulr and desighn more pasificaly it is so sof lookinf and round as well as haveing a very chils book feel to it. my main isu it the way it is desplayed i just thk the bad ground eceratonthey are taky an cheepen it.
the coper sculpt have a to skinny frame with no suckers and not much deatail as well as this im not good or have a intresin wire sculpter tho i can respect the skeel. i find it oldy creepy and it reminds me of the Squid teddy from coriline.
