USSOP x Fem!reader (platonic)
Summary: spending a day guarding the merry with ussop.
The merry was anchored at a small eeire looking island. Chilly breeze rustled through the trees. Luffy along with nami and chopper went to look around the island (they were forced to go against their will). Zoro and sanji were again betting on who would bring more meat for dinner before disappearing into the forest. And robin had disappeared from the ship. You were staying back to guard the ship along with the man who had caught 'cant go to this island' disease.
Ussop was repairing the parts of merry that were damaged after falling from the sky island- your homeland from where you had joined the crew. While you were sketching the island in your sketchbook.
"Why doesnt this tree look like a tree?" you whined, almost scrapping the paper away with your eraser.
Loud footsteps approached you from back. "Woahh! It still looks amazing y/n. Can I also get a paper and pencil?" ussop asked settling beside you. "taking a break." he added.
"Sure" you replied, handing him a paper and pencil. The two of you immersed in sketching the island.
After some time you peeked at his drawing. "It looks amazing Ussop. Didnt knew you were good at drawing!", you exclaimed with sparkles in your eyes.
He let out a small laugh, "thanks y/n!". He continued, "you probably dont know about great adventures of captain ussop– me. When i was five i fought a huuugge sea monster with my bare hands" he said proudly telling his adventure tales as usual.
"Yes, the fight went on for hours untill the sea king finally collapsed"
"Woahh!" you said faking your excitement. "Thats a lie, right?" you continued, hitting him with your words. "How did you know?" he said with a gasp and shock not expecting you to catch his lie, thinking you truly believed his story.
The two of you were laughing and gossiping about the crewmates and the people you guys had met till now. Suddenly, there was loud sound from the stern of the ship. You both jumped from your place.
"w-what was that sound just now?" ussop said in a little voice. "Ussop go and check. I will guard the deck here." you said trying not sound afraid. "Why should i go alone? You come with me too!" Ussop complained, demanding you to go check with him.
You came up with an excuse "because you are the only man on ship right now. And as a man you should go and check for the danger, protecting the women."
"What do you mean? Why should i fight with whatever it is alone. You are just scared to go, right?" he fought back. And there was another loud crashing sound in the sea.
The two of you glanced at eachother in fear. You had no choice but to go and check with him. The two of you ran to the back of the deck.
"What's that?" you said trying to take a better look as Ussop tried to sneak away but you caught him before he could and dragged him with you.
You looked closer and saw two wierd animals, probably native to this island, playing around in water. Ussop did not look, he was too busy trying to free himself from your grip and hide.
You sighed from relief. And the man next to you turned to finally look. "Haha I knew it already!" said the man acting like he wasnt trying to run away just now. "Yeah yeah, thanks for showing your true bravery ussop. This could be another addition to your great adventures" you teased.
Ussop tried to make up by some stupid joke as you two headed back. You laughed and still teasing him, joking around and finishing your sketch.

The sky was colored orange and the sun about to go down.
"Thank you for your help y/n"
"No problem, i didnt even do much", you helped ussop grab the tools to repair the mast of merry.
You both heard a familiar voice- "SANJI MESHI". It was luffy. You could see distant figures of nami,chopper and surprisingly of robin with them. Too bad for him sanji wasnt back yet neither was the mosshead. You could sense the chaos that was about happen.
