recent thoughts: he is absolutely a dramatic trauma twunk and i admit this is a soft spot of mine when it comes to characters. but i also like that due to his whole deal he's still basically in the teenager phase of everything bad being the WORST thing that's EVER happened to ANYBODY. like getting hit in the eye from another dimension against all reasonable odds and getting turned into a bomb, that's a pretty good reason to think no one's ever had it as bad as you. and then you leave home, and you have to avoid having friends, and you're depressed so you're drinking a lot, and you're already kind of a partier, and so on and so on

on top of that i love this idea that my DM pitched and we haven't talked about since, which is that he doesn't age quite right. he heals too quickly and doesn't have any scars or major wrinkles, and in-game people were already calling him "kid" just from how he acted. so, strangers would say he's early to mid 20s. he thinks he's 28 or 29, but he'd admit he's lost enough time to blackouts and benders that he's not really sure but it's 30 tops. but in reality he could be years older?? my DM could throw a real curveball if they wanted and I'd agree like oh he was actually unconscious in a ditch for eight years flight of the navigator style? yeah that could've happened!!

so like, there's just no helping that he's going to be too young for himself.

which is a huge part of why he's so annoying, but also a big part of why he's so... sweet? he's not exactly a kid under there, but i think thinking "i'm the worst person in the world" and other teenage shit, he hasn't had a chance to think "there are so many terrible people in the world" and get jaded. his big secret (on par with, or part of? the human bomb thing) is still cares about people SO quickly and has to temper his instincts or keep people away just to stop even a little bit

I don't think anyone who did it yesterday made a mistake, just that communication maybe didn't get around. (I don't think a lot of people know the origins of the day or that it has a website or oversight at all, given how it's essentially an internet holiday at this point).
