if you ever want to elevate your fanfic reading experience, I can’t recommend downloading fic from ao3 into an ereader enough!!
no distracting phone notifications
using an ereader with a foldable cover feels really similar to holding a book in your hands (but unlike a book, an ereader has dark mode, built-in light for nighttime reading, and customizable fonts and font sizes)
related to my second point: you can read fic more discreetly when you have downtime in public (for example, on an airplane), because it looks like you’re reading a regular ebook, and the ereader’s customizable font means that the text on the screen isn’t recognizable at a glance as an ao3 fic
you never have to worry about ao3 being down or losing a favorite story, because the fic is stored locally on your ereader (and it’s easy to organize with calibre software!)
you can leave better comments and easily come back to favorite parts by bookmarking/highlighting/leaving notes in the ereader as you’re reading
