Summary: Having broken both his arms a month prior in a spectacularly unlucky skateboard accident, Sam has been stir-crazy ever since. Sebastian has the house to himself this weekend and the two get up to their usual hijinks, albeit with Sebastian acting more as a caretaker than a friend due to his current condition. It's due to their close friendship that Sam makes a bold request for help with handling something a little more intimate, not realizing that Sebastian harbors a crush for him and is all-too-eager to assist.

Day 2 prompt: My Best Friend

Summary: Band practice, video game, and maybe ruining friendship.

"Oh, come on. Please? One more run?" Sam begs, his chin on Sebastian's shoulder. Sebastian turns his head and his heart flips sharply. Sam's face is less than two inches from his, bright green eyes catching the setting sun as Sam stares at him. One second, he watches as Sam's gaze drops down to his lips, tip of his tongue poking out of his mouth to wet his own. A blink later and Sam was pulling away slightly. Get it together, idiot, Sebastian tells himself, with the faintest of head shakes. You're imagening things! "Come on, Sebby. One more run!" Sam asks with pleading, puppy-dog round eyes. "You'll get it this time!"

Sambastian Week Day 1 - Band Practice, and for once they are actually practicing guys!!

Yes, that's right my friends. On June 15th, a year past the arbitrary deadline I originally set myself, I am finally going to start posting Changes: Transitions, the first fic in the sequel to Choices. Set in my Second Chances universe, this tale took a shit-ton of detours that I never intended, but I'm pretty pleased with the end result. I hope you will be, too!

Summary:

Decisions made by Callie, Sterling, Shane, their friends, and their family continue to reverberate throughout Callie's second year in the valley. Some changes they hoped for; others, they dread. The rest they could not have possibly foreseen. After all, something—or someone—is playing with the very fabric of reality. Transitions is the first fic of Changes, the sequel series to Choices, and interweaves characters, lore, and storylines from the original game and a multitude of mods including but not limited to East Scarp, Ridgeside Village, and Stardew Valley Expanded. However, though the prologue overlaps with the epilogue for Choices: Winter, Choices is not required reading for Changes. Any necessary backstory/lore should be addressed within the text itself. (Though the tale is undoubtedly richer if you’ve read Choices, I didn't want to require 600k+ words of prior reading for newcomers.)

Starting tomorrow—partly because I'm feeling silly, and partly as a celebration of Choices crossing the 10k hit mark last month—I will be posting a series of ~1k word interviews with the cast of Transitions. Why? Because I can, the idea wouldn't leave me alone, and it gives me a chance to babble about Transitions in a hopefully entertaining manner.

Fun Fact about yourself? My baklava leads to marriage (can verify personally). The secret to it--the secret to most good things, truth be told--is butter. And lots of it. And sugar. Oh, and toast the pistachios and walnuts before layering them in the phyllo. Did I mention the butter? Use salted.

How long have you been writing fanfiction? Bits and pieces since childhood--one-off paragraphs in journals, spit-balling headcanon with friends, writing scenes and dialogues between favorite characters. But I've only ever posted one fic (my current WIP), which is also my first foray into a cohesive story and not just scraps. All crossed fingers and rabbit foot rubs are welcome because writing a long story is HARD. Endless applause and kudos to all of you who have managed it!

Favourite SDV character to write? Elliott, hands-down. I fashion a lot of his dialogue after Moira Rose--obscure words, dramatic turns-of-phrase. He's made me best friends with my thesaurus.

Favourite tropes/genre to write? Slow, slow, SLOW burn, friends-to-lovers, slice-of-life, hurt/comfort.

Your most popular SDV fanfic? Again Tomorrow. I only have the one, so it is, by default, my most and least popular. It's a three-person POV slow burn with OC Farmer, Harvey, and Elliott. I've had the time of my life writing it. <3

Hear me out: Gus would be the perfect marriage candidate for the farmer--practically speaking, the farmer could supply the saloon, and Gus would be their best customer. Romantically speaking, Gus would cook for the farmer and name restaurant specials after them, and I can picture him being so enthusiastic about the farm. It'd be sweet and perfect.
