A message from our CEO: Growing impact, growing need
Eight months into my role as CEO, I have seen A Start in Life grow in both reach and impact. We have seen a 30% increase in the number of students we support and this number will continue to grow. We want to welcome more new families into our community, and strengthen the foundations that enable our students to succeed.
In 2025, 63% of our Kindergarten to Year 12 students said they used the funds for basic school supplies while 52% of our tertiary students reported accommodation as their largest expense, reflecting the rising cost of living and participation in education. These are not optional costs; they are the foundation required to stay engaged in learning. With financial pressures expected to remain high in 2026, many students will continue to miss out on valuable opportunities.
