Alkyoneus the Giant Killed by Athena
Detail from the Pergamon Altar's frieze (The frieze depicts the Gigantomachy); built in 2nd century BCE; Today in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.
The Pergamon Altar (Ancient Greek: Βωμός τῆς Περγάμου) is a monumental construction built during the reign of king Eumenes II in the first half of the 2nd century BC on one of the terraces of the acropolis of the ancient Greek city of Pergamon in Asia Minor.
Athena, the city goddess of Pergamon, breaks the Giant Alkyoneus’ contact to the earth, from which the mother of the Giants, Gaia, emerges. According to legend, Alkyoneus was immortal only as long as he touched the ground, where the power of his mother could flow through him.
The Evermore Grimoire: Mythology
The Norns were female beings who ruled the destiny of gods and men in Norse mythology. It was believed that they also decided the destinies of giants, and dwarfs, and were responsible for the fates of every individual human being. Their names were Urd, Verdandi and Skuld. They dwelled within the Well of Urd beneath Yggdrasil, the great ash tree that stood at the centre of the universe and held the Nine Worlds in its branches and roots. They shaped destiny by carving runes into the trunk of the tree, or, in some sagas and poems, by weaving destiny like a web or tapestry. Their counterparts are the Morai from Greek mythology.

I just remembered this 🍁Zeus🍁 I made some time ago. I based his portrait in a friend of mine who is pure Greek beauty. I think this is one of my favourite works, specially because of the anatomy, the expression and the fabrics.
