Toyota MR2 G, 1984, The first generation MR2 used exactly the same DOHC 16-valve 4A-GE engine and transaxle gearbox as the previous Corolla but instead of sitting over and driving the front wheels it was move amidships to drive the rear wheels. It was the same engineering solution Fiat had used a decade before to create the X1/9 using the engine and transmission from the Fiat 128.

Nissan 300ZX Turbo Shiro Special, 1988. A special edition of 1,002 for the US market (and 75 for Canada) that were more driver focused than the regular Z31 series 300ZX. Modifications included non-adjustable Koni shock absorbers, fatter anti-roll bars, Recaro seats, Aisin 5 speed manual transmission with a viscous limited-slip diff and bigger front air dam. All the cars were finished in three-stage Moon Glow Pearl paint (Shiro in Japanese for white).
