Hello,

First day of lectures🐝📚
I was at uni for a total of 4h today and I am already so done with the world. The lecturer of my linguistics seminar seems really nice and topic wise it was pretty interesting (especially the discussion about maya the bee and the fact that she went to school lol). Took me 4h but I just completed the required reading (30 pages), though I’ll probably review my notes again as typing them just isn’t a good strategy for me. Added to my notion pages, rewrote my lecture notes & did some organisational stuff. Got interrupted by R calling me to ask about the sub shift plan - I’ll work on Tuesdays and occasionally on Thursdays! Other than that I just had a look at the required reading for one of my pedagogy lectures and it’s 103 pages. Yay. Physically feeling really weird. Because of that (& the lecture - I just don’t like to be in a room with 200 people) I am also mentally feeling rather weird. Tomorrow is the meet-the-faculty-thing for my tefl module, let’s see how that goes.

Day 2 of being productivity. Studying Finance Theory. It’s so challenging but if I won’t do it now I will not do well. So let’s get it.
Worked for a total of 5 1/2h and only got the things done I couldn’t do while I was sick. Somebody explain to me why my to-do list never seems to end? Finished my lecture notes for tefl & pedagogy no2, finished my notes for next weeks english class and got started on the tasks I have to hand in for pedagogy 2 (it’s a mindmap & a drawing lol - teaching major things) - still far away from finishing that, but the tasks for pedagogy 1 get uploaded tomorrow, which means: more stuff for my to-do list. I have my first seminar for teaching english tomorrow & the wednesday group (who has the same lecturer) wasn’t too happy about it - we’ll see how things will go. Also tried out the weird elevator on campus (paternoster lift - still undecided whether I like it or not lol)

2025. 10. 22 | Wednesdays are always so slow.
Refreshing on thermodynamics in the context of microbiology and it's so slow. That's ok tho.
My priorities this week:
Thermodynamics/bioenergetics → what does that mean for my bugs?

Brainstorming future RQs
Prepping for 3 month agreement meeting
I've taken to using my journal notebook to stay engaged with my project. Disconnecting so hard, esp on my commute or over the weekend, makes it hard for me to get back into the material and I'm realizing that the effort it takes for me to think about my project during non-work hours is less than the work it takes for me to reconnect with what I had done previously during work hours.
Not deep-work stuff. Just lightly thinking about my project. Idk what kind of toll it'll take to sort of mull over my research questions super casually, but for now it's working.
we went to a café that makes the best chai lattes and studied for a couple hours. I was reading Sallust here.

I began the day with a long walk and some barre exercises at home.
then I read “Signature Event Context” by Jacques Derrida.
this afternoon I’ll attend my deconstruction lecture.
i got an email that my exegesis was graded, but since Canvas is down, I cannot check it. Yikes. My grade will be held in purgatory until Canvas is fixed, or until I get the paper copy back—whichever occurs first.
