Hi, I’m probably gonna ask a heap of questions because my Religion Studies teachers are anti-Jews and refuse to teach us to understand the Jewish faith properly. When exactly, which occasions do Jewish men wear the kippa?
More orthodox men wear it at all times, some more reform jewish men only when praying, some reform Jewish men wear it never. Some women and non-binary people wear them too but thats a more recent thing.
Hi! I've recently moved into a neighbourhood with a huge Orthodox Jewish population. Are there any particular rules (for lack of a better word) that I, as a goy and a woman, should try and observe when I interact with my neighbourhoods besides just generally being friendly and respectful? Also, would it be considered inappropriate for me to enter local businesses like Jewish bakeries and delis?
Don’t touch Orthodox men in general as it is viewed as inappropriate, besides that just being generally respectful should cover 99% of your interactions. feel free to go to jewish bakeries and delis just dont order pork or shelfish or like a cheese burger.

The image also appeared on a Twitter account that regularly tweets violent, racist memes, according to mic.news. They include violent propaganda against Muslims and immigrants and racist images of Clinton.
“White supremacists rally on the internet to expose what they believe to be a vast anti-white conspiracy … in which Jews have paid off politicians and infiltrated the media to undermine Western society from the top down,” mic.news wrote.
“The Clinton meme Trump tweeted — which first appeared on perhaps the biggest bastion of the anti-Semitic alt-right — has brought that same hateful paranoia into the mainstream.”
It goes on to say that “One relationship of particular importance to their ‘anti-White conspiracy’ is that between Jewish reporters and Hillary Clinton, whom they believe to be working in tandem to undermine the Western world.”
Meanwhile, Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, now a CNN contributor, said yesterday that “a tweet is a simple tweet” and that people were “reading things that just aren’t there” into the use of the Star of David.
“This is a simple star, the same star that sheriff’s department use across the country to represent law enforcement,” Lewandowski said.
He described the controversy over the star as “political correctness run amuck and accused the mainstream media of “trying to attack Donald Trump for something that isn’t there.”

I'd like to correct one thing about your Ten Commandments answer: the text is the same, but Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant versions of the text split them up differently. The Protestants skip our 1st commandment, and the Catholics merge it into our 2nd. To make up the difference, the Catholics split the 10th and the Protestants split the 2nd.

would it be okay for a non-jewish person to go talk to a rabbi? I'm agnostic, my parents raised me catholic which resulted in a deep hate for christianity but somewhat internalized anti-semitism. I'm scared to overstep but I want to unlearn this problematic side of mine, and I think talking to jewish people would help... but I'm very unsure, please correct me if my ask itself is problematic, I'm so blinded by my upbringing I can't even tell what is ok and what isn't :-/
Sure. Rabbis will talk to anyone, often at length, and occasionally won’t stop until you leave the room. Rabbis are scholars and teachers by nature and tend to love researching and answering questions.
Can you pick and choose what parts of kosher law you want to follow, or is it all or nothing?
There's varying levels of strictness in different movements and I know many conservative/reform Jews who have customized their way of keeping kosher to fit their preferred lifestyle.

How do you feel about Jews getting tattoos? Specifically a tattoo of a word in Hebrew that means a lot to them?
Personally I think each Jew should do what they personally think is the right thing for them. Traditionally however, tattoos are strictly prohibited and in order to be berried in many jewish cemeteries you can't have a tattoo.
Do Kosher households ever pick a course, and stick with that? Like, this is a meat household, ya'll keep your dairy out, or just go vegan because that is a lot of dishes and towels. I helped a Jewish relative pack up her batterie de cuisine one time, and may never recover from the sheer number of things she had to have four sets of. I'm too shy to ask her because I love her and wouldn't risk upsetting her for the world.
I don't think anyone does that though I feel like that would be an amazing movie where one family is a milk house and one is meat and it's a Romeo and Juliet story.
