Ask The Arkhamites

(Also, Juliet and I are still working on the new thing. I’ve done a bit of work on it, but school is taking up a loooot of time right now, and that sadly has to come first. We’ll get to is as soon as we can.)

New Sims developments for anyone interested. This time, with pictures! Eer... one picture. XD.

I think I have an idea, but I need to run it by Juliet first. We’re spending Spring Break together, and we can get everything figured out then, and we’ll release it after (or during) that!

Last time I asked, I got a couple people saying they wanted more short stories, so hopefully what I have in mind will help with that.

Most of them don’t really care about them either way. However, there are the avid Disney fans among them as well.

Harley loves them. She claims that it’s like watching the movie for the first time all over again, and gets excited whenever a new one is released or announced. After the live action Cinderella came out, she spent months marveling over the dress. She even tried to make her own, but it didn’t quite work out in the end.

Penguin is quite against them. He’ll pretend not to care, but will also complain is Harley puts one of them on, and then proceed to point out ever single time they deviate from the original.

Riddler also loves them, but as with most Disney Movies, refuses to admit it. Everyone knows though. They’ve seen him go starry-eyed over them. He’s a bit of a sucker for those sorts of things.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I’m glad to finally have the pleasure of getting a letter. My business has been placed under a close associate of mine until I am released, which will hopefully be soon. I’ve given a few doctors a little bit of motivation, if you will.

I find Sleepy Hollow in General to be one of the finest stories told, so I believe my judgement of the film may be somewhat skewed. 

I find it passable at best though. While it is quite creepy, it isn’t all that powerful. It left no lasting impression on me, nor on those that watched it with me. I enjoy the film, but I want something a little more.

Edward, hands down. He can read body language and expression, and can usually deduce an answer with little to know guess work. And that’s when he doesn’t even cheat. He is a detective of sorts, after all.

In other announcements- we’re at 199 followers now! Thank you so much for your support guys! It really means a lot to us. The blog has grown so much since we started, and while it is different from our original vision, I’m very happy with how it has turned out.

So, in honor of our upcoming 200 milestone, I want to know what you guys want to see in the blog. What sort of things do you want to see the rogues do? Do you want more short-story formatted things, or more interaction between you and the rogues? …Hello?

Dear Anonymous and Anonymous’ cat,

Yes, I do enjoy Star Trek to some degree. While I cannot say it has the most accurate of science, it at least makes an attempt to explain the explainable.

And please make sure you check to make sure your cat doesn’t walk over your keyboard before you click send next time. The meaning got across, but the gibberish at the end is a little distracting.

We put them in Midnight Hollow, a really dark and creepy-themed town. It’s great, and suits Jonny perfectly, but Edward was not impressed.

The first thing that Jervis did was meet the neighbors. He then fell in love with both of them. He took up inventing, and has made a total of 24 simoleons through that. He has spent several hundred on books and flowers, though.

Jonathan is the only one with an actual job, and he hates it. He works at the local sanitarium, hates all of his co-workers, and wants to see the ghost of his currently-living boss. He also visited a bar, found a cult in the basement, and was very impressed with their statue.

Edward is less fond of Midnight Hollow than the other two. Horror isn’t really his ‘thing’, and he doesn’t even find the place charming like Jervis does. He’s pretty grumpy about their crappy, single-room house and dank surroundings. He sleeps all day and hacks all night, has no skills, nor social life, but tries desperately to impress everyone he meets. He’s probably made the most money though- his hacking has proved to get them anywhere between 200-300 simoleons a night. He’s done little of note, but was abducted by aliens, and came back pregnant. (Because sims 3 is weird and that can happen. a 1 in 3 chance, but Eddie isn’t very lucky.)

The is the point where my sister and I intervened. We did not want these three to raise a child- alien or not. We reset his sim, which ended up glitching 140,000 simoleons into their bank account as well. From there, we decided that Edward had simply stolen the money so they could at least buy a decent house to live in. This one features an indoor area for Jervis' inventing station, a basement for Jonathan’s ‘chemistry set’ and a tower for Edward to decorate with as many garish colors as he wants.

Anyways, I’m going to answer a few letters tomorrow. School got insane before break started and I needed a few days to completely unwind. Hence this ridiculous mess. My sister and I have Joker and Harley in the game too, but they haven't been as interesting. (I keep trying to get Harley and Jon together. No success so far.) We might add Catwoman and Pam too, but we’re not sure how well they’d mesh with the overall feel of the town. I don’t think they’d like it too much, but they’d also be a lot of fun to have in the town.

Juliet and I have been productive this break! She’s in an area with limited internet, so I’m posting this for her, but she drew this adorable picture!

Here is the next riddle, as I promised. 

A myth or the truth, cannot be told, but the idea has many sold. A place to go when we sleep, but not for dreams or counting sheep.

I apologize for not answering sooner. I was wrapped up in Thanksgiving festivities here in Arkham, and was distracted from doing as I had promised. Excuse my little... slip up.

As I received no other answers, I will now give the answer to my last riddle. The answer I was looking for is responsibility. professor X came very close. Power and responsibility, in my eyes, are different, but very very related. 

I actually had a discussion with Crane about this. He seemed to think our Professor was close enough, as he claimed Power and Responsibility are the same thing. A very interesting point to think about, but I find it to be quite wrong.

He gave me the definition of responsibility, which is  "The state or fact of having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone".  He claimed that because the word  control was included, it indicated power, thus overlapping the two and making them the same. It’s an interesting, and rather valid, point.

Nonetheless, I’d simply like to put a scenario forth. Imagine that you are to take care of a child, and a rather obstinate one at that. You have responsibility to watch the child and keep it safe, but you do not have power over the child. The child can disregard you all it wants.

Either way, the riddle has been answered now. It is late and I'd like to retire for the night. I’ll send out a riddle at my first opportunity tomorrow morning.

Most of them don’t really want anything in particular. Christmas has become more of a pleasantry to them. it’s more of a time where they can A) capitalize on the shenanigans of Christmas to further their own schemes, or B) Relax and enjoy the holiday as a time of relative peace.

There are some of them that take it dead serious though. Harley, Jervis, Edward, and Harvey all love Christmas. They do everything they can to make every Christmas as complete as possible, whether on the run, in Arkham, or just hiding out. They sing carols, get people gifts, set up decorations… the whole shebang.
