i've just kinda been feeling bleh lately, and I'm not even sure I should keep running this blog.

I mean I know I like Rick and Morty still, but not sure if I have the same drive to roleplay like I used too.

plus I've outgrown a few things that I used to do with my mortys. so I'm trying to figure out rather I should even keep this blog going or if I should just delete it and start fresh with a new blog, or just keep this one and just have universal reset so to speak.

So what do you think I should do?

Dump the blog entirely and start fresh

Keep the blog as is and just reset the universe

make your own damn decisions and stop relying on others to make up your mind

I feel like child Rick's bedroom is the "good" version of Morty's bedroom. They both have a science theme, but Rick's bedroom is warm and inviting, giving the impression that his parents love and take care of him. Morty's room is bare and cramped and appears to have mold growing on the walls and ceiling. This reflects his parents' indifference toward him.

Also, looking at this now, the contrast between child Rick playing with his inventions and adult Rick drunkenly sprawled on the floor is pretty depressing.

People say that if you don't like Jerry, it's just because you like Rick, but eh--I don't think that Jerry is the great guy he believes he is. I think he knows people see him as a victim and plays it up because it's easier than admitting that he contributed to the toxic family dynamic just as much as Beth did.

Infamously, Jerry won't get a job--and it'd be one thing if he wanted to be a stay-at-home dad, but he clearly has no interest in parenting either. He spends no one-on-one time with his kids. I can only think of one Morty and Jerry episode back in season 1, and does he have a single episode with Summer?

I mean...Rick is pretty much raising his grandson. He's doing a shit job lmao, but he is. I don't think that's what he's trying to do, but he spends way more time with that kid than his own father does.

Jerry also says inappropriate shit in front of his kids, throws them under the bus when it suits him, doesn't model good behavior, and--like Beth--does jack shit about the fact that Rick drags Morty on wild adventures all the time. He also has no problem threatening him:

In other words, Jerry is not a family man. I think Jerry would sooner have sex with Rick than own up to his mistakes and try to be a better father.
