Baby’s are gross. Jaxson is an exception. Not that she would tell anyone that, especially Vincent, he wouldn’t shut up about it.

Speak of the devil. She hears the bounce of feet walking into the room, the recognizable tap of Vincent’s shoes. She can just feel the grin on his face when he steps beside her, crouching down.

“Isn’t he cute?”

“No.” Yes.

Vincent laughs, before looking at Jaxson and grinning wide, “Hi Jas! You growin’ up fast?”

Era snrks. Something she had learned about Vincent was that despite how sweet and nice he was, he was one of the most impatient people you could meet. He went through this whole ramble to Jaxson about how he needs to grow up as quick as possible and be 20, he should do it right now, he’s taking too long!

“He’s growing up the same amount he was yesterday,” she states, Jaxson finally letting go of her hands and instead began to mess with her velvet bow tie. She held him steady in place, Vincent would kill her if he fell while she was in the room.

Vincent ruffles Jaxson’s hair, the baby cooing and giggling.

“Well, he should do it faster.”

Era told herself that she wasn’t going to partake in this childs life, she wasn’t going to raise it, this wasn’t her child. It didn’t matter. She barely even knows Vincent. It didn’t matter.

And yet, she found herself carrying a cart and watching as Vincent excitedly ramble on about the baby. She wasn’t listening, uncaring about the situation when noticing something he put into the cart. Baby food.

Except it was that really bad type of baby food.

Era picks it up. And puts it back on the shelf. Vincent turns to her, staring, “Why did you do that?”

“What kind of question is that?? That’s a terrible kind of baby food!” Jesus, didn’t he know anything? Vincent suddenly grins, picking it up again and slowly starting to place it in the cart.

Era quite literally chops it out of his hands, “NO THAT’S BAD DID YOU LISTEN TO ANYTHING I JUST SAID.”

Vincent continues to grin, it’s all bright and cheery and she hates it. (you don’t hate it)

“Didn’t take you as the motherly type. I thought you didn’t care about the child?”

That fucker- “I DON’T I’M JUST PROVING YOU WRONG!”

At some point Era feels like he’s started trying to get all the worst things on purpose. And he continues to grin whenever she points it out and begins to lecture him on what’s actually good fucking quality. Bastard.

 Hi Mama…. it’s me, Phoebe. It’s been almost 5 years since you…. you…. A sigh is heard A.. A lot has changed… Lilith rarely wants to hang out with me anymore, instead choosing to hang out with her cousin. Jaiden and Romeo are always on a date and Jaxson rarely is here….
