An Honest Review of SweetDream's Lifelike Companion Photos

Let me be straight about my bias going in: I find most AI girlfriend photos slightly off-putting. There's usually a tell, the waxy skin, the too-perfect symmetry, the sense that no real camera was ever involved. That expectation is exactly why my time on sweetdream.ai stuck with me. At work, I got to thinking about Tengu in GW2 doing bird things. I've had birds for years and they would preen my hair (one budgie had a thing for my mustache and beard).

Think about Tengu becoming close enough of a friend to someone and while they are sitting around waiting for something (like a boat ride), the Tengu just leans over and starts preening a Norn's hair or a Charr's fur. The person is like "uhhhh what" and the Tengu is like, "Something troubling you? 0 v0" And they keep doing it.

It just sounds cute to me. Also: budgie Tengu.

Yakez is minding his own business at the accountancy in Rata Sum when he feels arms around his body. Not used to being hugged randomly by strangers he starts to panic. His struggling stops when he hears the voice of a female asura right behind him, blushing as he turns his head to look at her.

"Ph-pun-punish me? But but but…" he whimpers, giving Miru his best large puppy-eyed look.

"W-waiting? Oh, no no no. Of course not, Miss." Yakez’s ears twitch as he takes a deep breath and suddenly pushes his lips onto Miru’s. It’s an odd kiss. His first, actually. He quickly lets go, unable to speak at first as he pants. He looks up at Miru with wide eyes and red cheeks.

"I-I’m sorry. That… that was bad…"

He scratches at the back of his ear as his eyes wander down to the ground. “I can still ha-have my-my hair brooch back, y-yes?”

Miru opens her eyes and blinks a few times, astonished, before she titters. She gives Yakez a warm smile. "Promise me that you will work on that, hm?" she replies as she puts the brooch back in one of his hands. As soon as he has it in his possession she winks and turns to head off in another direction.

"The name is Miru, by the way," she calls out as she leaves. "I'll see you around~."

Miru’s impish smirk softens when Yakez compliments her. Good boy, she thinks to herself. Miru lets his shirt out of her grip to let him stumble back before reaching into her coat and pulling out a familiar gold brooch. She waves it around.

"I heard that you lost this. Very precious to you, isn’t it?" Miru purses her lips and holds it close to her heart. "Well, I happened to find and I would like a reward for it’s return: one kiss."

His large eyes go even wider seeing his mother’s gold hair brooch that he had lost. “Y-you found it? Oh than-” but he is stopped hearing she wants a reward for returning it to him. His lips let out a small gasp. A kiss? From a pretty lady? The blush in his cheeks is hard to not miss now as he smiles and makes an excited squealing sound. “O-oh boy! Of course, for a pretty lady such as yourself.” He tugs at one of his ears in a nervous habit as he looks up to her, smiling wide enough to show off his sharp teeth.

Miru quickly nods; he gave his consent. Little did he know that she might have given him back his precious heirloom back without a kiss... but she prefers to milk situations like this. She leans in close to his face and remains there. Those few centimeters seem to be farther than they really are as she waits patiently. It is apparent that Miru is dolled up: her lips are vibrantly rosy and she smells faintly of oranges and vanilla. Maybe she meant to catch someone like Yakez like this. Who knows? Only Miru.

"Well? Don't keep me waiting."
