Hello!!! This is a sideblog for my Undertale AU, Kintsugitale!! There will be art and the chapters of the story here!!
:: STUFF AND MORE STUFF ::
kintsugitale/shatterverse: what are they?
⤡kintsugitale is the specific AU that Kintsugi!Sans (Also known as Cryo) comes from
⤡shatterverse is their multiverse, and the variations of the other AUs will be referred to as such; ex: shatterverse!ink, shatterverse!dream, etc. I don't own these characters, only Cryo and kintsugitale. go check out their original creators since these are just my interpretations!
fanart
⤡Fanart is AMAZING and i will SCREAM AND JUMP FOR JOY!!!!
⤡But, please do not draw anything suggestive of my characters!!! It makes me uncomfortable!! Angst and minor gore is fine, but please just keep it minimal.
asks directly towards the characters
⤡Always welcome! Feel free to play your own characters too!!
⤡If your asks are blatantly fourth-wall breaking, i will answer them as myself!
⤡Answers are put in a point in time that changes very often (basically whatever i think gives the most lore) and some asks are kinda inaccurate or outdated. If you're wondering if something old still holds up, just ask again!!
requests for doodles
⤡Super cool!! It wont be high-quality and will only include ocs/personas if i know you well or you're a regular!!
⤡I can deny requests if im uncomfortable.
activity
⤡I'm fairly inactive most of the time due to the fact my motivation to work on this coming and going, and the fact i rarely use tumblr. sorry lol ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ don't expect a posting schedule, but if you send me an ask about progress ill give you a report/sneak peak.
:: ~ ~ ~ ::
Please do not send me any asks unrelated to the AU!! if you have asks for me (the creator) send me them on my main here!!

Cryo asking the Bad Sanses for advice on ANYTHING after kind of becoming part of their group (after he left the Stars and before he went off on his own). Dust, Horror, and Killer respectively.
cryo. the man that you are and the things that you do.
it would actually make a lot of sense that he would be interested in geology since. yknow. the big ole crystal hanging around his neck thats probably the hardness of diamond. him and his Rocks. he would love living in a cave
opened up a twitter post and saw some amazing replies that reminded me of them. my bugs. that i hate. vial is the only intelligent one here. cryo is "smart" but he says the dumbest things. malware is just extremely dumb. like a puppy or something.
[Vial, Cryo, and Malware all belong to me]

but like i had school and stuff. anyways if any of my followers are still here i have NEW ARC C1 for you. including (checks notes) my interpretation of Sciencetale, some mentions of the Stars, and mostly just Cryo. Six pages please read uhh this took me a while. LONG WARNING ig
----
Two months. Two months and three days, to be exact. Adding up to sixty-four days. 64 days; 1536 hours; 92160 minutes. If he wanted to be exact about it.
Vial stared at the clock as that mind-boggling value went through his head. 12:01. It had taken him a full minute to comprehend that this strange Sans variant that had fallen into his Alternate Universe had been sleeping for two full months. He knew it couldnât be a coma, since his magic was still active. His brain scans reported that he was dreaming.
This was one of those cases where everything Gaster taught him fell through. Unexplainable, Unresearched. Unknown. Vial and his brother, Beaker, had run test after test to try and figure it out but they always came up with more questions then the ones they had set out to answer.
Something had obviously happened to this Sans. Those breaks along his bones⌠Vial shuddered, thinking about what could have caused that. But amazingly, they were healed with that strange crystal substance that shined with a prismatic sheen when placed under a light.
Vial sighed wearily, getting up and beginning to pace back and forth in front of the cot. The cot they had placed him in when they first brought him here, bleeding from only one wound that went directly through his soul, too damaging to have survived.
But he survived.
Vial could still remember it so clearly. He didnât think he would ever be able to forget.
There had been so much blood. Whatever caused the wound had gone straight through the body of his sternum and his third and fourth ribs, causing compound fractures. It had hit the left side of his soul, causing a four-and-three-quarters hole that went all the way through, puncturing one rib on exit. It must have been caused by some sort of weapon; a sword or a spear, but there was no weapon with his body. Though he could rattle off the specifics of the injury now, when it had happened Vial had done exactly what he feared he would always: He froze. Luckily Beaker was there to shake him out of his panic.
Vial stopped, staring at the sleeping Sans on the cot. He had seen so much not just from the Multiverse, but from being a part of one of its top scientific organizations. But nothing like this. Nothing that had left him so⌠lost.
He approached the side of the bed again, examining his patient for what felt like the hundredth time. The Sans breathed evenly in his sleep, eye sockets shut tight. Vial traced his gaze along the fracture that stretched from his right cheek all the way to his temple on the other side. He sighed, speaking to him.
âYouâre really messing me up, mystery guy.â
Vial sat down in a chair next to the cot, continuing to speak his thoughts into empty air.
âGod, I donât even know your name. I donât know if you have someone looking for you. You just⌠fell here, getting yourself stuck in this strange cryostasis, leaving me with a mystery I for once canât solve. Kind of an asshole move, eh? Such a lazybones, ha! HahaâŚâ
Vial paused, catching his awkward expression in the reflective screen of the vitals monitor.
âIâm talking to a comatose patient⌠What's up with me, man.. Iâve been spending so much damn time here that I think you can hear meâŚâ
Vial brought his legs up to his chest, wrapping his arms around them as he did. His eyelights shrunk and stared at the (lifeless looking body) Sans.
âCryostasis Sans, if ya can hear me⌠at all⌠please wake up. I dunno how much longer Gaster will let you sit here, taking up a room and supplies. Iâm on a time limit to find something to make it worth keeping you alive. I called the Stars to come look at you, but theyâre so busy with those new âChaosâ and âOrderâ outcodes that I have no idea if they even got my message.â
Vial took a shaky breath in, holding it for as long as he could to calm his panicked soulbeat.
âPlease⌠I donât want to see someone die. Iâm not ready for it.â
He stared for a few more moments, the absurdity of his actions filling his head. He got up, and shuffled out of the room. He needed to stop worrying and obsessing over things he couldnât control or effect.
He only hoped The Ones Above were listening. Maybe his inane ramblings counted as enough of a prayer.Â
â
He needed to sleep.
He needed to sleep.
He needed to sleep. (There wasnât anything wrong) Something was damaged. Something hurt. (Not anything it could fix.) It needed to heal. It needed him to sleep. Maybe it could fix it. (It had tried for so long. There were things to do. Powers calling out (Screaming out) for help.)
He needed to sleep. (No.)
He neededâŚ
He needed toâŚ
He needed to wake up.
â
Vial stumbled back down the stairs to the darkened laboratories after remembering his discarded documents that he needed to take upstairs and put on the kitchen counter because Beaker kept forgetting to finish his portion, even though Vial reminded him endlessly! He rounded a corner quickly, almost tripping on his pajama pants and adjusting his lab coat before he saw it.
A figure, standing in the darkened hallway. Staring at its reflection in a mirror, barely moving. Clenching its hand around something that hung from a string around its neck.
It was him. Cryostasis Sans. Alive. Up. Awake. Vial almost thought he was hallucinating from lack of sleep. But he wasnât, because nothing that wasnât real could be this detailed; breathing and hands twitching slightly as it looked at itself.
He stepped closer to the Sans, calling out to him.
âY-Youâre awake! I- I didnât expect- Do you require assistance? Iâm Vial, and I-â
Cryostasis Sans cut him off, staring at Vial with confusion and shock. Silence filled the air, allowing for Vial to draw a few nervous breaths. He finally spoke, quietly like he hadnât used his voice in forever. He looked right through Vial as he spoke, like he could see through his lab coat and ribs to his soul and shatter it without even initiating a battle.
â. . . where am I. why⌠do you look like me?
Vialâs confusion cleared as he realized the universe this one came from must have been incode. He knew nothing about the multiverse. Gosh, Chief was always better at explaining this. He cleared his throat, and hopefully also his nervous stutter.
âWell, Iâll start with the easy question. Youâre in Sciencetale, specifically our New Home Laboratory division. You appeared in the forests of Snowdin two months ago, and our security system there detected a wounded monster and sent me to go help.â
âThe second question is a bit more complicated. To put it simply, there are millions of different versions of our world all across the Multiverse. They all have things that are different about them. For instance, I became a scientist full time. Instead of the role of âJudgeâ, I retain the âScientist/Medicâ role. You certainly look a lot different from most âSansâ variants I see, and if i examine your CHECK-â
Vial CHECKed Cryostasis Sans without thinking, before realizing how rude it could be. Too late.
* SANS / âCryostasis Sansâ - [REDACTED] ATKÂ [REDACTED] DEF. ROLE: ????
* (It doesnât trust you enough.)
* Just wants to understand how heâs alive.
* No longer âThe easiest enemy.â
* You feel like youâre going to have a strange time.
Cryostasis Sans was way too long of a nickname, Vial thought. Maybe just âCryoâ for the future.
Vial hadnât even realized Cryo was looking awfully upset over his comment on him not looking like other Sanses. He squeaked a quiet âSorryâ before continuing while awkwardly staring at the wall.
âWell, if you donât know anything about the Multiverse then it's a mystery how you just appeared here..â
Vial trailed off, leaving the question for Cryo to answer. Cryo huffed, turning to face Vial and crossing his arms. Despite his stand-offish attitude at first, it was pretty clear he was scared by the situation.
âI donât know how I ended up here. And I certainly donât know how to get back, or else I would have done it already.â
Vial furrowed his brows. Cryo looked away from Vial, his left eye twitching and flickering with what looked like a continuation of the cracks on his face. Vial lowered his voice, trying to seem comforting. Maybe provide Cryo with some sort of support. He looked so close to breaking⌠what could have caused those cracks..?
âWell, you could always stay here for a while.. Iâll call the Stars in the morning, theyâll be able to help.. You should really rest- â
Cryo snapped at him, suddenly raising his voice. He waved his arms around like he could physically reject Vialâs suggestion.
âNO! I donât want to-â He cursed under his breath, shaking his head. âCanât you just call these âStarsâ right now!?â
Vial stepped back away from Cryo. His thoughts scrambled to answer.
âWell, The Stars are really only three people⌠So if something can wait until morning, we should let them rest as much as we can- They do a lot for the multiverse.â
Cryo glared for a few more moments, before bringing his arms up and hugging his shoulders. He looked down, his expression cycling through grief, anger, confusion, and sadness before fading into a seemingly empty and apathetic face. He shrugged and nodded, fiddling with his hands before shoving them into his pockets.
Vial shot Cryo with a bit of a concerned look, but the latter was staring down at the shiny floor, refusing to look at his almost-doppelganger.
âWell, if you would follow me, I can bring you up to the housing floor where I stay.. You can have some time to yourself in the guest room..â
The atmosphere quickly became awkward as they walked, with Cryo not saying anything and walking slightly behind Vial the entire time. Vial began to ramble once they got in the elevator, not knowing what else to do.
âYeah, I know you must be thinking that itâs weird that I live in a laboratory-hospital-facility-place, but I certainly donât stay down there- I have an apartment with me and Beaker, and Chief- Also known as Gaster- Heâs our dad, basically. Alphys stays over sometimes, but she has her own apartment-â
Cryo speaks finally, interrupting Vial.
âBeakerâs your brother, isn't he? Why arenât you calling him by his real name.â
Vial goes quiet, the tone of Cryoâs voice putting him off a bit.
âWell, since there are so many people who look similar and have the same name, it can get confusing. So most people give themselves another name, and usually keep their original one as their middle name. Iâm Vial (Sans) Wingdings, and my brother is Beaker (Papyrus) Wingdings! Does that make⌠sense?â
Vial looked back over at Cryo, who was shaking and staring blankly at the metal in front of him; his distorted expression staring back at him with that cracked eye socket. Realization sparks through Vial, and he immediately feels guilty.
âOh god, Iâm so sorry.. I- Iâm sorry for your loss. A lot of other Sans variants have lost their brothers too-â
âHeâs not dead. Heâs just lost. Once I get back home I can find him.â
Vial paused, opened his mouth to say something, but there werenât words.
Heâs lying. I can see it on his face. Is he lying to me, or to himself? Does he even know heâs lying?
Vial finally responded, no longer rambling on. That had really killed his urge to conversate.
âAh, I understand. I apologize.â
The rest of the elevator ride was silent, with Vial mulling over what Cryo had said. With a cheery ding that didnât fit the situation, the door slid open to a small room with a front door. It was engraved with a plaque that read; âWingdings Residence. đď¸âď¸â ď¸âď¸đď¸âď¸â ď¸âď¸đ§ď¸ âźď¸âď¸đ§ď¸âď¸đď¸âď¸â ď¸đď¸âď¸đŹď¸âÂ
Vial fished his keys out of his pockets, unlocking the door and allowing Cryo to step through. There was a welcome mat with an illustration of an Annoying Dog.
The apartment was a bit off-putting in the dark, with its lack of windows, but Vial turned on the lights and it softened up the space a bit. It was very much akin to the normal âSans and Papyrusâs Houseâ Layout, other than the colors being reversed and doors next to the kitchen and where the bone portrait should be.
âWell, this is it. The guest room is that door by the kitchen, thereâs a bed and a small bathroom, so feel free to make yourself at home, and if you need anything my room-â
Vial was interrupted by the sound of Beakerâs voice and a door opening, seeing his confused brother peering over the baluster of the second level of the house.
âVIAL, WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING UP SO LATE? AND WHOS YOUR-â
Cryo darted away to the guest room, shutting the door hard behind himself. Beakerâs face fell.
âFRIEND. WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID?â
Vial sighed, shaking his head before grinning at Beaker.
âHeâs just intimidated to see such a cool scientist like you, donât worry.â Beaker beamed, nodding in agreement.
âNOW, WE MUST BE OFF TO BED! ITâS TOO LATE TO BE UP, WE NEED TO KEEP A STRICT SCHEDULE!â
Vial chuckled and nodded, shutting off the lights again as Beaker went back to his room. He went upstairs to his room, and shut the door.
He had forgotten the documents. Vial swore, before groaning. He would get them in the morning.Â

Cryo reference!!! Finally something up to date... I had a blue ref as well but I dont like it too much so im not going to post it for now... I wan to keep Cryo's ref separate from any riffraf
dream and ink designs (redesigns really since I had old ones) for Shatterverse... might do Blue soon with Cryo (or at least Cryo when he was a part of the Stars) since I ran out of space on this page..
dream looks emo but he's just stressed,,, he's still happy and positive but he's got some fatigue showig
love giving all of my creatures that ITâ˘ď¸ pronoun its my favorite thing. And my animal symbolism for both. (Spoiler: Cryo is a Possum/Raccoon and Blue is... probably some sort of dog. Golden retriever? Is that too cliche?? Can I still use that one??)
its four in the morning but I saw some of styropyro's videos and thought "that's totally something cryo would make in the insanity of his isolation" and sketched out a few things.
inspired by these three specific videos from his channel
[ Cryo/Kintsugitale!Sans belongs to me ]
tumblr really hated this post for some reason. Wouldn't let me upload my files so I had to take new ones. Thats why the second photo is rotated btw. I can't fix it. I tried.

So, cryo has issues with those who partake in the positivity vs negativity conflict, yes?
If he were to meet an alternate versions of someone engaged in the conflict (ex: a sans from a different timeline of underswap) would those feelings extend to them?
has issues with the people involved in the conflict (Mostly the Stars) Because when he was fighting with Ink, he saw how ultimately useless it was to expend all of your energy and to ruin your mental health in a never-ending war. (Also because Ink had some misconceptions on how much stress most people could handle, they tended to push not only Cryo, but also Blue and Dream to their limits and then some.)
If he were to meet someone, for example Dream, from another multiverse he would probably only have an issue with them if they were locked in the same sort of situation instead of finding a more peaceful solution. He wants there to be balance, instead of chaos.
