what I love about ENA is that it's very humanizing. the world of ENA is nonsensical and confusing. all of its characters seem privy to something that we're not in on - they know how the world works, but they don't explain anything to ENA, instead getting frustrated and lashing out at her for not being able to fit in and act like them. they're often condescending, even abusive towards her, especially when she has breakdowns. and why wouldn't she? she seems to be the only one who doesn't understand everything. she doesn't know the rules of all these rituals, she doesn't know why people act the way they do toward her, she often doesn't even realize she's being mistreated (even by her closest friend). so of course she'd break down and cry about how worthless she is, tell people how badly she wants to die, and get drunk and reveal her true feelings about life.

ENA to me feels like a series about navigating the world as an autistic trans girl, where everything around you seems totally bizarre and nonsensical, but everyone treats YOU like the strange one and are often outright hostile to you for seemingly no reason. but since ENA is our POV character, we can see that she's right to be scared and confused and depressed! I love this series specifically because ENA feels so distinctly human.

the reason for my absence from this account is simply because I am not happy with my art, especially of ENA, in my new artstyle. she needs a new and improved design, and ,, thats taking longer than expected. i need to get a grip on my artstyle regarding ena again. In basic, im going to improve my art and return so i can make this blog quality and something i can be proud of…
