ask-the-fool:
The figure looked at him and the cat. They shrugged. “Supposedly.” The figure was a short human, their gender was indeterminable, looking neither male or female. Arms crossed, their pink eyes shifted to study him and the cat, fins moving as they thought. They looked at the debris, a frown crossing their face. What they were thinking was unknown, but the odd axolotl-humanish creature’s face was furrowed. They let out a sigh, uncrossing their arms. “Though that one is a bit more.. loveable.” They snickered softly.
Their peculiar appearance attracted his attention in no time, but on the outside, he didn’t look as surprised as one should have. Maybe that was a good thing, considering all the odd looks they probably get more often than not. Greeting them with a smile of faux benevolence, he stopped petting the cat in favour of waving at them.
❝It’s the norm for predators. It’s only natural.❞, he hummed and brought his index finger to his lips as if to shush them. ❝Which side of the coin are you on?❞
They raised an eyebrow, tilting their head. They studied the figure in front of them. He seemed... nice enough. He at least didn’t freak out after he saw them. They studied him closely, every muscle tense, as if ready to either fight or flee. It was quite clear of that as well.
They were taken aback by the question, and they crossed their arms. Their tail fin flicked side to side, mirroring their expression of confusion. “What do you mean ‘coin’?”
