Oh, no. Frump already knows the rules. 

“Did you get verbal or written confirmation of that?”

Amelia laughs handing her a box. “Be careful with these, I’m pretty sure Cloves has been lifting my pens from my desk. But, he also doesn’t like me, so who knows what that is about.” She shrugs.

“Oh no, really? Why doesn’t-- why doesn’t he like you?”

“I’m not really that horrible of a choice for boyfriend for her, am I? I’m a good-looking, financially stable, employed guy that’s madly in love with their daughter. What’s there to hate?”

“Your reputation and personality?”

“Are you sure you’re okay? I could find someone to check you out, not at a hospital.”

They shake their head. “I’m fine,” they promise, fluffing their hair with their hand. “I do this a lot. Not intentionally. Well, sometimes intentionally. It’s good to practice falling so you can do it safely.” They stand up, brushing snow off their pants. “Other than the crashing, did it look alright?”

“I mean sure, if i was absolutely hammered or something, then maybe.    I’m alright, just tripped over the stack of paperwork I’ve been telling my dad to file for months.   If I broke anything, it would have been my own bones.”

“Did the paperwork make it? Unfiled paperwork is the bane of my existence.” 

“It’s mean, though. You’re bullying me.”

“I’m preparing-- preparing you for the worst.”

She grins. “I can tell, you made it look almost effortless!” She nods. “Only if you don’t judge me for being pathetically weak. That … I’m not even going to question that, but if you need a spotter that knows a fair number of healing spells, I’m in.”

“Thanks.” They shake their head. “No, no judgment. I know seekers are more built for speed than strength, but it never hurts to have both, does it?” They smile. “We have a bet going. If I win, I get his apartment. If he wins, he gets free tickets to every Quidditch game ever for the rest of my career. I’ve got-- got a box seat now that  I got promoted.”

Amelia stands up on her toes to look into the top shelf. “We’ve got, some boxes,” she pulls one out to look inside. “Oooo we’ve got some Muggle pens. They’re not too fancy but we could take a few if you wanted?”

“Harsh, Ants, jeez.”

“It’s true! That’s not my fault.”

“Yes please! I need some new clothes, I gotta’ spice up my wardrobe for Spring.”

“Great, we should do it then. Are you free now?”

Amelia shook her head and sighed, before stopping at the supply closet by the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts office. “Ok, I know I shouldn’t but I always feel a little bad opening other floors closets, so watch my back?” She shrugs before turning to the lock in question, quickly opening the cabinet.

“Okay, we’ve got paperclips.” She pulls a box from the shelf above her. “Do you want these little sticky note pad things? They’re pretty good for separating stuff out?” She turns back towards Anthea.

“I can do that.” They look back at Amelia. “Ooh, those sound-- those sound fun. Sure, I’ll take some of those. What else?”

“Of course you’ve already checked.” She shakes her head fondly at Anthea. “Definitely, I think it’s amazing. Terrifying to watch from the sidelines, but amazing.” She raises her eyebrows. “Wow. That’s impressive. I’ve always been better at speed than strength, but I’ll definitely have to work on that.”

“I have to be thorough.” They nod. “It’s terrifying to do too, but I’ve been practicing a lot.” They smile. “You should come-- come work out with Hercules and me sometimes. We’re trying to see who can bench press  the other first.”

“They love Cordella, why would they be mad?”

“Because you’ve been dating her for two seconds and her parents don’t like you.”
