*Irene was in her office, organizing her most recent case files by alphabetical order. She takes off her Sebastian Moran costume as she didn’t find a good time to take it off before. After that, she sat down in her desk chair and began to think, first about what else she can do, but then wonders to herself about cadence.
[Irene]
(It’s been a while since I last spoke with him. I mean since I’m now done with my work for today I bet it won’t hurt to visit him…..on second thought, maybe tomorrow. I’m getting a bit tired after all.)
*She grabs her black umbrella and steps out of her office, locking the door when she steps out.
*Cadence enters his own office, a long, dark coat shielding him from the rain instead of the usual umbrella he carried. As he enters, he locks his door behind him.
[Cadence]
(...If nothing else... this could create an interesting case to take...)
*Theres a gentle knock on Cadences door. Irene is on the other side, holding a wrapped gift in one of her hands.
[Cadence]
Irene? It's been a while, what made you come visit now?
*Cadence steps aside to let Irene in.
*Irene steps inside and places the gift on his desk.
[Irene]
Well it’s purely for the fact that I had some free time and decided to come here before I went back to my home to take a nap. Has there been anything new going on with you and your life?
[Cadence]
Nothing, really. Just the usual, I suppose. What about you?
*Cadence begins unwrapping the gift as he speaks.
[Irene]
Well I took on this recent case about the murder of a priest, but other than that there’s nothing else. What about lily, how’s she been doing?
*inside were a bunch of different kinds and shapes of chocolates.*
[Cadence]
She's been doing well. What about your recent case? It sounds interesting.
*Cadence puts the box back on his desk.
[Irene]
Well what started out as a locked room mystery with the reverend as the defendant slowly turned about a story of inheritance, Satan somehow being actually involved, and I can’t forget when the detective said that the victim himself managed to raise himself from the dead and supposedly managed to kill someone else. In the end though, Mister Mayhew, The reverends attorney, managed to find out that everything was all just elaborate trick by 2 culprits and a unknowing accomplice to stealing a treasure and making sure the priest didn’t get his hands on it. The reverend was found not guilty, and I heard he turned the victims church into his own, promising to be a better priest.
[Cadence]
That's... a lot. I almost wish a case that interesting would end up on my desk, but I suppose one will come at some point sooner or later.
That had to have been one of the most complicated cases you've been on.
[Irene]
It was, but now it’s over. It was nice seeing you agai………
*Irenes eyes drifted down to a small red splotch on cadences shoes.
[Irene]
Hey cadence, I don’t know you knew this, but theirs some strawberry jam on your shoe. (At least, I hope it’s just jam.)

*Cadence looks down at his shoe.

*Cadence pulls a handkerchief from him pocket and cleans it off.

You’re welcome, but I’m still curious about that stain that was on your shoe. Forgive me, but as a prosecutor, I tend to fixate on suspicious small details, I’m sure you understand.

I'm not sure myself. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, it was most likely just something from outside on a street.

*Irene leaves cadences office
[Cadence]

*Cadence closes the door and begins cleaning up his office and organizing his desk, checking everything over.
*A ghost begins to form, sitting in Cadences office chair, and smoking a cigar.
[Silas]
That was one of the closets calls I’ve ever seen in both my life and death. A little more poking and that woman might’ve caught on to a dirty little secret you have.
[Cadence]
You're lucky you're already dead, or else you'd meet the same fate. What do you want from me now?
[Silas]

He's getting what's coming to him. People always say to treat others how you want to be treated, I'm simply finishing the job.

I wonder though? Would Irene and lily really still care about you if you were a murderer, or would they try and distance you. Maybe the two will watch with joy in their eyes when you finally endure the hangman’s gallows? As for why I’m telling you this, it’s simply because between me, Carmen, and Sonia, I know what you are. You’re a murderer, and tonight is gonna be the moment you finally embrace that. In a sense. I look forward to watching this fire burn, while I watch and play my fiddle like a British Nero.
[Cadence]
...I've gotten my revenge on Carmen's killer. As far as I'm concerned, my life is fulfilled. I'll... I'll take the death penalty.

*Cadence finishes reorganizing and leaves for home, grabbing his umbrella on his way out and slamming the door behind him.
*Silas stays in the office, his ghost form fading slowly as he smokes his last cigar.

*He disappears from the office.
*When Cadence arrives at home, Lily is already waiting for him.
[Lily]
What took you so long?
[Cadence]
I was talking to Irene, and after that... I must have lost track of the time. You're at least going to be glad that I finally cleaned up the office.
*Irene meanwhile arrives at her home, at takes a look at a photo she has of herself and Hercule. She smiles a bit, before getting herself ready, and getting into bed, closing her eyes as she drifts off to sleep.
*After Cadence and Lily finish talking, Lily leaves to go to bed, leaving Cadence alone in the living room, still awake.
[Cadence]
(...It's only a matter of time until they find him. I can only hope it looked enough like a suicide for nobody innocent to be convicted...)
*The next day, Irene is woken up by Jason Marple, with a less than pleased expression on his face, there’s also two Bobbie’s with him.
[Irene]
J-Jason, why are you here so early?
[Jason]
…just…just come with me Irene, I will say though that we’re not here to arrest you though.
*Irene gets suited up, and leaves with Jason and the two Bobbie’s. They take a carriage. Irene starts to grow concerned.

So can you tell me what’s going on here?
[Jason]
A witness reported a murder to us. I investigated it and it looked to be a suicide, but the witness managed to have evidence that it was a murder, and he knew who killed him.
[Irene]
Who was it?
[Jason]
…..The witness told us that the name of the supposed murderer…….was Cadence Decresendo. Me and a group of Bobbie’s are about to arrest him. Here’s the plan, you go into the house, say you were alone in the carriage of cadence questions it, and you make him confess if he’s guilty of the crime.
[irene]

*That morning, walking into the living room, Lily notices Cadence.
[Lily]
... Cadence? Have you been out here all night...? That can't be good for you, you know.
[Cadence]
You tell me that every time. Something's... been bothering me, is all. Nothing you need to worry about.

*Irene gets out of the carriage and slowly walks to the door of cadences and lily’s house. She gently knocks on the door, noticing the carriage leave as Irene knocks.
*Lily is the one that answers.

Irene! It's been a long time since we've met... although, knowing your line of work, you're not just here to visit, are you?
*Cadence is already in another room.
*Irene looks a bit distressed, but tries to softly smile still.

Of course not. Forgive me if this sounds self-centered, but killing is on a level of desperation I would never sink to. I promise you, I never killed anyone.
*Silas appears behind Cadence

*Cadence pretends not to hear him, and decides to break the silence.

Jason, your theory was a cliche you read in a novel once. The only thing that could have connected them was the cause of death, which is common enough that it could have been themselves for what you knew.

Irene: not every case ends with an insane twist, like two people were murdered by an orangutan, sometimes the truth is the most simple of solutions.

*Silas begins to smoke a cigarette in his house.*

*Lily doesn't even look away, continuing on like nothing happened at all. Cadence's desk has been cleared off, the slightly untidy stacks of paper, half-read books and empty or broken pens that were usually there moved somewhere out of sight.

*He examines the desk, before hearing a knock on the door. A rather soft but also dominant knock, of which there were three.*

*He leaves then, Silas laughs and decides to push his luck by leaving his ghost cigarette on the dress.*

*irene enters the house, closing the door gently, and sitting on the couch. She looks tired after everything, and feels like she’s on the verge of crying. She then goes to the kitchen to decide to make something to eat before she sleeps.*
*Lily places the photo face-down before leaving the house to visit Cadence. She could trust Irene, but she needed her answer from Cadence.
*Silas walked with lily to the detention center.*

Jason: Anyways, regarding the murder in this case. The victim of this most grisly murder was a man named Thomas Atkins, or “Tommy” as some people called him, and he was a retired solider of the British military, serving in several battles, and being honorably discharged after a few years of service, where he went on to meet the love of his life, get married, and his neighbors overheard them having plans to have a baby. Unfortunately, that all came crashing down when someone murdered his wife.
Judge: forgive me, detective Marple, but why are you telling us all this.
Jason: to establish a motive, my lord, for you see it was suspected that the murderer of mister Atkins wife, was Carmen Decresendo, the accused’s father. While only suspected, it seems that mister Atkins murdered Carmen in a fit of rage for it. I’m sure you can piece together the rest, as the accused found out, went to meet mister Atkins, and shot him once in the head, before making his escape. The motive for all of this, was solely revenge my lord, revenge for the victim murdering his late father.
[Cadence]
(It's like they want me to apologize for something Carmen didn't do. I don't even know if Carmen would have done it in the first place. I barely knew him at all, really.)

Well what started out as a locked room mystery with the reverend as the defendant slowly turned about a story of inheritance, Satan somehow being actually involved, and I can’t forget when the detective said that the victim himself managed to raise himself from the dead and supposedly managed to kill someone else. In the end though, Mister Mayhew, The reverends attorney, managed to find out that everything was all just elaborate trick by 2 culprits and a unknowing accomplice to stealing a treasure and making sure the priest didn’t get his hands on it. The reverend was found not guilty, and I heard he turned the victims church into his own, promising to be a better priest.
[Cadence]
That's... a lot. I almost wish a case that interesting would end up on my desk, but I suppose one will come at some point sooner or later.

*He leaves then, Silas laughs and decides to push his luck by leaving his ghost cigarette on the dress.*

*irene enters the house, closing the door gently, and sitting on the couch. She looks tired after everything, and feels like she’s on the verge of crying. She then goes to the kitchen to decide to make something to eat before she sleeps.*
*Lily places the photo face-down before leaving the house to visit Cadence. She could trust Irene, but she needed her answer from Cadence.
*Silas walked with lily to the detention center.*
*When she arrives, Cadence doesn't even bother with a greeting.

After that, she sat down in her desk chair and began to think, first about what else she can do, but then wonders to herself about cadence.

*She grabs her black umbrella and steps out of her office, locking the door when she steps out.
*Cadence enters his own office, a long, dark coat shielding him from the rain instead of the usual umbrella he carried. As he enters, he locks his door behind him.

Well it’s purely for the fact that I had some free time and decided to come here before I went back to my home to take a nap. Has there been anything new going on with you and your life?

Well I took on this recent case about the murder of a priest, but other than that there’s nothing else. What about lily, how’s she been doing?

Well what started out as a locked room mystery with the reverend as the defendant slowly turned about a story of inheritance, Satan somehow being actually involved, and I can’t forget when the detective said that the victim himself managed to raise himself from the dead and supposedly managed to kill someone else. In the end though, Mister Mayhew, The reverends attorney, managed to find out that everything was all just elaborate trick by 2 culprits and a unknowing accomplice to stealing a treasure and making sure the priest didn’t get his hands on it. The reverend was found not guilty, and I heard he turned the victims church into his own, promising to be a better priest.

That's... a lot. I almost wish a case that interesting would end up on my desk, but I suppose one will come at some point sooner or later.

Well what started out as a locked room mystery with the reverend as the defendant slowly turned about a story of inheritance, Satan somehow being actually involved, and I can’t forget when the detective said that the victim himself managed to raise himself from the dead and supposedly managed to kill someone else. In the end though, Mister Mayhew, The reverends attorney, managed to find out that everything was all just elaborate trick by 2 culprits and a unknowing accomplice to stealing a treasure and making sure the priest didn’t get his hands on it. The reverend was found not guilty, and I heard he turned the victims church into his own, promising to be a better priest.
