Evaline: I’m sorry I couldn’t be of much help with hunting…. It feels like you were at it for, oh I don’t know, six months, heehee!

Meat: You don’t say.

Evaline smiles brightly behind the bundle of berries in her mouth, oblivious to the past few... conversations, if you could call them that... Meat had been having with the host of curious strangers.

Truth be told, Meat herself didn’t have a favorite berry. Like many things, she was completely indifferent towards the lot of them. They were food that filled a hole in a hungry belly. But still, the sentiment was...touching. Ah, she had been staring a bit too long as she considered the gesture.

Meat: “...Yes. But I must also gather some roots for storing. Perhaps some fresh prey if the opportunity presents itself... Let us go now.”

Meat nods Evaline forward, and Evaline swells with pride, bounding ahead. Meat continues after her with a dismissive flick of her tail. But she slows, turning her head enough for Bambina to gather that Meat is addressing her.

Meat: “... Usually...”

She offers no clarification as she trots to catch up with Evaline’s lithe, swishing form, leaving the hillside behind.

“It is unwise to trust strangers without precedent... Fear not; my company is not one most enjoy, anyways.” She begins to walk off towards the underbrush, her back to the now-risen sun, but she pauses a few steps in. Her tail sways idly, contemplating.

“If you are under the impression that you are in Alola, I am sorry. You must be very lost, I think.”

Meat: “Or, rather, Grandmother talked of going out to scavenge food herself, despite her age. I figured if I did not head out early to do so, she actually would try it…”

Evaline: Teehee~ Oh goodness, feisty as always I see. Well we certainly wouldn’t want that, now would we? I won’t hold you up any longer then, Meat, we can always catch up later! <3″

Meat hesitates, standing stiffly in place. Her tail twitches, and as Evaline turns to head off, Meat hastily moves to face her.

Meat: “But….You are welcome to have breakfast with us once I have finished… Grandmother enjoys your company.”

Evaline: “A-as long as I’m not imposing… And only so long as you promise that you and your grandmother will come to lunch at my place next time, teeheehee!”

Meat: “...”

Meat pauses, then quietly extends a paw to examine the bell. She holds it softly in her open palm, observing it with unyielding eyes.

Meat: “If I recall, this was from a rattata, but it was from a rather old hunt so I could be mistaking it for another small prey animal. If this is pleasing to you, it is yours.”
