Your lighting is really cool! Could you please give me some tips? I've been wanting to get better at it but I'm really confused
Hello! thank you! I tried to explain everything, but i’m sorry in advance: i’m not English speaking person. Anyway, hope it helps a bit.
Basic tips:
- Аnalyze the lights and shadows from the pictures/drawings you personally like/love (THATS HARD I KNOW BUT). It'll help, and actually will be something you are passionate to learn. There are so many techniques, but it always comes down to fundamental things: base color, basic shadows, highlights and reflect lights. Search it and find a way to do the same!
- Experiment. I like it. Yes, it's difficult, but i like to try to find/practice new things. And i think it shows results so far. Out of 10 experiments there is always 1 that successful in some way.
- References are saving me always. No jokes. I'm addicted.
- I learn mostly from other artists, some of them do guides/tutorials about lighting and oh gosh bless them.
- You know, knowledge of basic color theory is kinda handy, i would say
In overall, just... watch and try to do the same and learn from your attempts. That’s all i can advise, and that’s all i do myself actually xD
