To add to my last ask, im aroace and repulsed by both romance and sexual stuff, so finding a donor would be awkward... >_<
yeah. but its worth noting that not all donors view it as sexual/romantic. some do, some dont. unfortunately, im not sure about finding a donor, as i got really lucky with my partner. if you do desire to find a donor, i wish you the best of luck and actually would be curious as to how that goes!
I'm also 18 and in college, and on a strict budget due to this... just figured out that i might also be vampiric (which is funny because im already a crow therian, fallen angel kin, and deep sea/abyss conceptkin)... how would one follow a sanguine diet on a budget?
thats really cool, i have a few kintypes myself! nice to meet someone in a similar boat to me (im also going into college in about a month!). i saw your other ask so i wont talk about donors here, but what i will talk about is:
blood alternatives (and animal blood)!
for alternatives, id look for things high in iron, especially red meat. but red meat can be pretty expensive sometimes. many green vegetables also have good iron content (like peas, spinach, broccoli, etc). also note that pairing with vitamin c helps with iron intake!
which leads me to: taste alternatives! orange juice is one that i use a lot. so is dark chocolate. and black cherry kool-aid is one that my partner uses!
and of course, theres animal blood. pigs blood is honestly fairly cheap to get. you can usually find it in asian grocery stores, butcher shops, or online! (i recommend looking in person, i have no clue what the shipping cost would be.)
BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NOTE. if you are going to drink pigs blood or use it to cook. you ABSOLUTELY MUST boil it. the boiling kills any bacteria that could be VERY harmful. if youre cooking with it, its fine to just cook with it because the cooking kills bacteria, like how boiling does. also! fun fact: you can use blood as a substitute for eggs in some things! look up how to do that if you so desire!

what's the difference between vampire/vampyre?
it really depends. theyre used interchangeably, but! some people use vampire to mean the fictional creature and vampyre to mean the real ones. i dont do this because. idk i just dont really see a point, i suppose. everybody does it differently.
(disclaimer: this is an answer to the best if my knowledge, absolutely please correct me if im wrong.)
how do you and your donor/partner balance energy needs when feeding if you're both vampires? Are you both sang, or two different types? (if that's not too intrusive)
basically, a lot of communication! were both sang vampires, but as long as we do a lot of check-ins with each other and make sure the other isnt too tired.
usually for us losing blood doesnt affect our blood levels a whole lot (idk why! it does a little but not much) so that plays into how it works too probably.

how long have you been drinking blood?
since last year! i hadnt found a consenting donor until my amazing girlfriend and it took some time to realize that we were both vampires.
when did you have your awakening?
its a little complicated! this sounds stereotypical, but for a long time i kinda knew i was different. i was always really into darker and gothic stuff, especially vampires. i LOVED them and would always "play pretend" as one.
but i guess i realized i actually WAS one and that was a real possibility was about 4 or 5 years ago. i stumbled across some stuff about it in a tumblr rabbit hole and realized that it aligned very heavily with me!
