"I mean hell, my dad was on a full-fledged gym leader's team. I've seen him beat Pokemon twice his size. Sometimes we'd battle for training reasons, but he'd always go easy on me. I could never beat him, of course. But my favorite memory of him was... probably when I evolved. When I was little, I used to watch my dad fight in gym battles, and afterwards I would always beg him to teach me. He would always turn me down nicely though, and tell me I was still a bit too young. But I kept pushing, and he kept saying no. And then, for my next birthday, my dad saves his present for last. He handed me a plain black box with a silver ribbon, and inside it was a moonstone. I remember grabbing it and immediately running to hug my dad, holding onto him right there as I evolved."

"It happened... years ago, now. Tucker wasn't even fully evolved yet. Dad had gone out for a gym battle that night, and... this group of people attacked the place out of nowhere."

ITS MUNDAY AGAIN but I can’t find my cats So here’s my dog

Okay you guys have been way too nice to me today and now I gotta get you back so here we go.

When I first started sometimes-shiny-spinda back in... what, August? I really wasn't expecting much to come from it. I was fully expecting it to just be a rinky-dink traditional art blog about a loveable shiny spinda that I would casually work on to push myself to draw more often. What I've gotten out of it not even a year later is obviously wildly beyond those expectations. I really never thought I would attempt to do digital art on my phone, I definitely never planned on making a second blog for Alina, and the last thing I expected was for that sideblog to surpass my main blog's follower count. I never thought I would even consider opening commissions (which are coming sometime in the future), and I never thought that I would join as many pokeblog discord servers as I have. And of course... I never thought that I would make such close friends with so, so many people. People that mean the world to me. (Yall know who you are ;3c) Sometimes it's just... really hard to imagine that I could have missed out on all of this if I had just... decided not to start the blog.

The pokeblog community is so incredibly warm and supportive and positive to every one of its members. Obviously its not perfect, but for such a huge group of people on tumblr of all places, I think we're doing a pretty good job. I seriously consider this community the best little corner of tumblr out there. And I couldn't be happier to be a part of it. If you've been considering starting up a daily blog of your own, my advice is to just do it.
