After defeating Ranrok, Siren attempts to continue her classes normally, however, she never imagined the shadowed secrets of her past would creep into her life again, entangling those closest to her. As the school year comes to an end, everything plummets into uncertainty when she receives a letter from the Ministry of Magic. Trials, a snake, and curses begin to stir, brewing the perfect potion for secrets, deception, and fear.
Once Siren finally embarks on her second year at Hogwarts, though desperate to excel academically, she struggles amidst the vicious grasp of her wavering past. Her desperation to help Anne grows as she once again endeavors to find a cure with a certain brown-eyed, freckle-faced serpent, Sebastian Sallow. Only this time, despite their reservations, a cure may not be the only thing the two discover along their journey. Sebastian finds his heart torn as Siren puts herself perilously close to danger, risking everything to save Anne by placing herself directly in the shadows once again.
This story starts immediately after In the Shadow of the Relic and continues on to 6th year.

From Chapters 5 & 6: The OWLβs are here, and with that comes the Final of Boggart Banishing. While Ominis and Sebastian had their own Boggarts to overcome, nothing prepared Sebastian for the darkness and self reflection Sirenβs Boggart presents, or prepare Ominis to learn that she may have deep seeded connections with his family.
After the Shadows of a Lost Goodbye
From Chapters 7 & 8: After another heated argument between Siren and Sebastian about using her magic to heal Anne, Sebastian sets out early the next morning to apologise, only to learn it may be too late.

From Chapter 9: Direct continuation from A Lost Goodbye, Sebastianβs and Ominisβs final Goodbye before parting ways for Summer.
The Trial
From Chapter 10: Ominis is to accompany his father on a trip to the Ministry of Magic, but he has no idea how what all that would entail.
Alone Together
From Chapter 11: After Ominis leaves, Sebastian returns to Feldcroft alone, but not for long.
The Second Trial
Sebastian and Ominis, now together again, learn they need each other now more than ever.
The Letters : Part One
Siren has finally awoken from the snake attack, and yet, she is not quite herself. In a desperate attempt to bring some life back into her eyes, Miss Burton, Sirenβs current guardian, sends a request to her friends in hopes they could help.
The Letters : Part Two
Sebastian and Ominis continue to write to Siren about the endeavors during the summer and through the start of the school year.
The Letters : Part Three
The long awaited letter from Siren has arrived, and they send one last letter before she is finally set to return.
