I just finished book five of Dungeon Crawler Carl, and I've seen some people (on instagram lmao) mischaracterizing Carl, sort of joking that he blows stuff up without hesitation and without thinking through it

But, Carl is so chronically an over-thinker? He had four (or more!) backup plans at the end of the Butchers Masquerade, and was actively mixing and matching elements of them to fit the changing scenario. The only times I can recall him acting without thinking through it is when he's defending, not attacking.

Hell, he even fine tunes each of his bombs to be meticulously right for any given scenario. He thinks through each possible path he can imagine. He optimizes *everything*.

I love him sm please don't water his character down into brash dumb explody man

My conviction that Carl is very handsome has nothing with the several comments about his appearance which indicate that he is, but is almost solely based on the fact that he was in a long term relationship with Beatrice.

Beatrice strikes me as a person that's deeply invested in appearance, both how her partner looks and how they are perceived by others. Despite her cheating on him she looked at him as the person she wanted to marry, and was trying to manipulate him into proposing. I just genuinely don't think she would do all that if he's not also bringing the benefit of being a smokeshow to the table

So excited to have completed my first Dungeon Crawler Carl fanart!

After reading the series three times (soon to be four, thank you book eight) I just couldn't shake the absolute love I have for it and the characters within. I see a lot of art of Carl and her Majesty, the Queen Anne Chonk, so I figured I would start with some characters I rarely or never see art of.

Tsarina Signet was the automatic first design I had come to mind. Her story moved me so dearly, and her blood magic and tattoos was so freaking cool, I just had to draw her!

This piece took me 18 hrs, 31 mins.

This bug. This bug that, to most humans, is utterly useless, relatively gross, and completely foreign. Humans saved it because humans do not want to cause another extinction ever again if they can avoid it.
