UNBOTHERED

I am blessed to be raised with mom and dad in the house. They never gave up no matter what. When my mom first got sick and was in the hospital for a month it was the scariest thing for me. I was 3 and I still hold that fear. But my dad took care of me and took me every day to see my mom. Every year after that she would get sick and end up in the hospital. Due to always being sick and staying on this Meds and getting treatments that were expensive, My parents struggled financially. But they never let me know it. They always made sure I had. They made sure I had a roof, food, clothes and anything else I needed. They showed the importance of family in many ways. Loyalty. Trust. Honesty. And love. My dad loved us and worked hard for me and my mom. My mom loved us and she made sure that she support us. We had good times and bad times. But eventually the bad times faded because the great times overshadowed anything else. See a married couple is never perfect. There are going to be mistakes. But the important thing to remember is that family always stick together. Work out the differences. Never run away. Love each other. Be patient. Always loyal and honest. Communicate. Seek help if needed. Never be prideful. Be vulnerable.

As I reflect on my parents marriage and both my grandparents marriages I know I can be the best wife. I know I will be able to love again. My grandma E’s husband died when my mother was 10. Leaving her with 11 children. How loyal was she? She never remarried. Now she is in heaven with him after 40 something years. Grandma C. She worked odd jobs just to keep busy but she always had pops breakfast ready at 4:30 am lunch packed for work and dinner when he came home. Also he came home to clean house.
