Although m&m has kathy, she’s a kind and loving sibling, the shoulder he crys on because he cant do that with his parents,
Angela is the big sister who would kill a kid for him. Teaches him about the world and bugs him and makes sure he’s fine while still helping him sneak out and do the shit he wants.
She’s not the better older sister figure, just a different side of the relationship he didnt get with kathy

Id also like to add that i think kathy would pick on him as well, but only the lightest teasing , maybe stealing some candy. She’d be heartbroken to know she was the reason her brother was crying or having a harder time so she plays it safe.
