First Date
Lucanis takes Rook out on a date night in Treviso.
"Wait, what!?"
A few patrons of Cafe Pietra turned their heads to Lucanis as his bewildered voice rang out, louder then intended, before returning to their own idle chatter. The Crow cleared his throat in embarrassment as Cyras giggles at the outburst.
"Sorry, I am just surprised is all. You... courted the Antaam Comander? That's how you managed to gain the upperhand?"
"Hahaha, well, yes. I needed him distracted, I had no chance of freeing all those prisoners on my own. I may be a skilled mage, but I couldn't take out 20 Antaam by myself." Cyras says in bemusment as he recounts the tale of how this all began. "Once we were alone it was much easier to take him out, and with their leader no longer there to give orders, the rest of the Antaam were left disorganized and sloppy." Cyras hums as he finishes off his dessert, wiping his mouth with a handkerchief before adding, "I was finished with the rest before the hours end~"
Lucanis can't help but laugh in disbelief. "No wonder Varric recruited you. I'm sure even he couldn't spin a tale as ridiculous."
"You should have seen his and Harding's faces. How often do you see a member of the Antaam swoon like a schoolgirl~?"
"Hahaha! Maker's breath, you are something else." Lucanis shakes his head before turning his head to look out at the water. "Ah, the sun is nearly set, I fear I lost track of time."
Cyras grins, the familiar, teasing lilt returning to his sultry, deep voice. "And you promised to take me to the Grande Markets. How rude of you to forget." He clicks his tongue, an ear flicking in amusement.
Lucanis simply rolls his eyes, though his cheeks burn a bit. He should be used to the elf's teasing by now, but those eyes, soft blue and framed with the most delicate white lashes that flutter as he blinks,
They ruin him everytime.
"Relax. We still have plently of time to look around before the market closes." Lucanis stands, picking up his bag before extending a hand out to Cyras who takes it without hesitation. The way his soft fingers glide over Lucanis' calloused palm sends his heart racing.
Cyras stands, hand moving to hook onto Lucanis' arm, playfully bumping his hip into the others. "Good~ I'd hate to get all dressed up for nothing~"
As they walk out of the cafe, the cool, crisp air of Treviso's night nips at their skin, causing Cyras to shiver involuntarily, leaning into Lucanis for warmth as they make their way to the markets, the usual, teasy banter they're used to fills the space between the two Crows.
The Grande Markets feel alive as the pair step foot into the bustle of shoppers and preformers. Cyras' eyes shift from Lucanis, widening with childlike wonder as he takes in the sights and sounds.
"You've been here before, Cyras." Lucanis chuckles, watcheing as those blue eyes sparkle in wonder. "Ah, well, yes." Cyras giggles softly, fiddling with a loose strand of hair. "But only recently. I told you before I grew up in the Drowned District, we didn’t have the coin to spare on frivolous things." His gaze returns to Lucanis' before continuing. "You'll just have to show me around~" He says with a wink, his gentle grip on the mans arm tightening slightly.
"I believe I can manage that." Lucanis smiles back, taking Cyras from stall to stall, wading through the crowd of people.
"Oh my..." Cyras whispers as the pair stop at an extravagant looking stall displaying the most stunning jewelry. Lucanis looks over as Cyras' hand gently grazes over a silver necklace lined with light blue jewels.
"What a beautiful piece." Lucanis chuckles as Cyras breaks from his trance, his eyes leaving the bejeweled beauty to meet Lucanis' gaze. "Huh? Oh! Yes it's very pretty. I've never seen these types of gems before."
"I believe that is jeremejevite. It's quite rare, especially here." Lucanis informs.
Cyras quickly pulls his hand back, huffing out a defeated laugh. "Expensive then. I see." He turns to leave but Lucanis holds him in place. "Do you want it?"
"Lucanis. I can't afford something like-"
"Cyras. Do you want it?" Lucanis says with a smile, cutting off the elf. Cyras sighs and looks back to the necklace. He wants it. It's the most beautiful necklace he's ever seen, but he can't ask Lucanis to buy it. Maker, it must be worth a fortune.
"Um... I mean, I..."
"Sir?" Lucanis calls out to the owner of the stall who walks over, fixing up his sleeves.
"Well well, a Dellamorte has graced my fine establishment. Are you interested in a piece from my collection?"
"Yes, sir. How much is this necklace right here?" Lucanis hands him the delicate adornment and the mans eyes light up.
"Such good eyes you have, young man. This necklace is made from the finest jeremejevite all the way out in Par Vollen. The materials are quite rare, as I'm sure you know. I am willing to part with it for, let's say... 10000 gold?"
Cyras almost faints at the mans words. 10000 gold for a necklace? There's no way Lucanis would spend that amount of gold for him. That would be ridiculous.
"Is that all? I'd be happy to take it off your hands." Lucanis pulls out a pouch of gold and hands it to the owner, thanking him as the necklace is placed in his hand. He turns back to Cyras who's eyes are wide in disbelief. "Is something wrong, Cyras?"
"Lucanis... you shouldn’t have spent that much coin on me." Cyras says softly, cheeks dusted pink as the man simply chuckles in response.
"Nonsense. It was nothing, and I'm sure you would be upset if we left without it. Now turn." Lucanis guides Cyras so his back is facing him and the elf just sighs, moving his hair out of the way as Lucanis places the jewels around his neck, securing it in place. Cyras turns back to face the man, looking at him like one looks at a beautiful sunset.
Completely awestruck.
"It matches your eyes, Cyras." Lucanis whispers, making the elf flush an even deeper shade of red. "Flatterer."
The two laugh and resume walking, though Lucanis starts leading him out of the markets. "Where are we going now?" Cyras asks, hooking his arm around Lucanis' once more.
"There is... one last place I'd like to take you tonight, if that's alright."
"Oooh, where?"
"That is a secret. Don’t fret, I'm certain you'll love it."
Lucanis whisks Cyras away through the streets of Treviso until they reach a large trellis that goes up the side of a large building. Cyras throws him an incredulous look.
"Are you about to make me climb all the way up there? I'm wearing heels, Lucanis."
"Hahaha, no no. Grab on." He turns, patting his back. Cyras stares for a moment before it hits him. "You’re gonna carry me? No offense, but can you really get us both up there?"
Lucanis scoffs, looking back at Cyras. "Who do you take me for? I am the Demon of Vyrantium. As a Crow, you should know we're experts at scaling buildings." Cyras laughs, walking over to the shorter man and wrapping his arms around his shoulders. "If you drop me I will kill you." He murmurs into Lucanis ear.
Lucanis begins the climb and Cyras clings on tight, his long, slender legs wrapping around Lucanis' hips. Much to Cyras' surprise, Lucanis is scaling the building with ease, as if the elf were not even there. "Forgive me for doubting you." He says, breath ghosting over Lucanis' neck. "This is very hot, I might add~" He can't stop the teasing comment from slipping out, causing Lucanis to stumble a bit before regaining his balance. "Mierda. Don’t do that right now." He grumbles out as they make it to the top, setting down the elf who is currently giggling at the Demon's reddened cheeks. "Sorry, sorry~! It just slipped out!"
Cyras is about to tease him again before his eyes look glance over his surroundings and land on the still waters of Rialto Bay. The night sky reflects itself onto the bay like a mirror, the soft glow of the moon and stars seem almost ethereal at this hour.
"Mythal'enaste..." He whispers in astonishment.
Lucanis sets down the bag he's been carrying, pulling out a large blanket and a bottle of Antivan Red wine. "This has always been my favorite spot. I used to come here after contracts to celebrate." Lucanis sets up the blanket on the roof and lays himself out, patting the spot beside him, and Cyras is quick to fill it.
"I can see why. Thank you, for bringing me here. It's... peaceful." Cyras' voice is soft, intimate, like Lucanis was the only one in the world meant to hear him. "After everything that has happened, I think you need the peace." Lucanis’ voice carries the same quiet tone, popping open the wine and pouring a glass for each of them. Cyras is quick to indulge himself, sipping on the wine before setting it beside. He slides his heels off and lays down on the blanket, looking up at the sky.
"And you wondered why I felt unworthy of you before. I don't believe anyone has ever done something so kind for me." Cyras looks over as Lucanis lays down beside him, his own boots discared now. "I'm simply giving you what you deserve, Cyras. And you deserve to be happy." Lucanis' chocolate brown eyes meet his, sparkling like the night sky.
"You are too handsome, you know that~?" Cyras asks with a chuckle, his hand grazing Lucanis'.
"Now who's the flatterer?" Lucanis huffs out, a shy smile on his lips.
"I'm serious. You remind me I'm beautiful all the time. I fear I've yet to return the favor." Cyras' fingers intertwine with the others. "You're beautiful, Lucanis."
"Ah, hahaha well that's... kind of you to say." Lucanis clears his throat, his heart was racing as his own fingers closed around Cyras'. He was a grown man, he shouldn’t be getting this flustered. He feels like a teenager, mushy and warm. It's gross.
But he loves it.
The two sit in silence for a moment, lost in existence, teetering on the line between taking it slow and diving in.
After some time passed, Lucanis sits up, looking out over the bay. Cyras sits up, too, their hands still held together. Lucanis turns to Cyras, his eyes looking down to the elfs soft lips, watching as they curl up into that signature, teasing grin.
"Is your head clear this time?"
"... yes. I think it is."
Lucanis leans in, pressing his lips into Cyras'. The kiss is gentle, simple, light as a feather, but if feels like sparks dance between them. Cyras waited so long for this, since the first time Lucanis has drunkedly pressed his lips to his to when he pulled away that night in the pantry. The kiss that say, 'I want you. I want this.'
They pull back, Cyras’ ears drooped in bliss as a soft giggle escapes his lips. "Hehehe... you better not make me wait that long for the next one..." He whispers.
"Mi amor... I will never make you wait again."
I've been holding onto this doodle for 2 days debating posting it but since I can't get anything else to work rn this is what y'all get I guess.
Also I'm slapping the mature tag on this just in case. Probably not enough actually visible to be required but I'm not taking any chances. The implications or something IDK. I still don't fully get Tumblr's rules.
Ahh they're so soft 🥹💚💚
Some very quick Rook and Lucanis kiss doodles I managed today.
I'M GONNA SOB! Look at how cute they are 🥹
More quick doodles of that outfit just because.
Apparently Lucanis is now my personal dressup doll or something IDK
Also a sidenote that I didn't mention before; the corset is inspired by two things, 1- his starting armour with the large belt thing and 2- that one formal looking armour that I don't remember the name of with the bit of lacing on the back. (In other words; he doesn't seem against wearing corset-like pieces in canon as far as I can tell)
Yess, we need more Lucanis showing off that slutty little waist 🤣

Have a very quick 10min doodle based on an old Vine from memory because I have no better use of my time apparently.
I liked this post, scrolled for like another minute before I went “SHIT FUCK SHIT” and scrolled back to reblog it
I always reblog this one when I see it on my dash. When someone posts their own art, writing, or music here they are really hoping you will share it.
Thank you @whatacaitastrophe for sending me this template! It was so fun to fill out :D

Rookanis Thoughts at 1 AM
Cyras touches Lucanis as if he were made of porcelain. Soft, gentle, with the utmost care. He stays calm with Lucanis, even during the Crows worst days. He treats Spite with kindness and understanding, giving Spite someone to lean on. He doesn’t do this because he believes Lucanis is some fragile halla, Cyras knows he's quite the opposite. He's seen how resilient and strong Lucanis is, he knows he doesn’t need to be coddled. He does it because he believes Lucanis deserves it. He has seen the pain and darkness behind his eyes, knows he's suffered, so Cyras decided to be his light.
Cyras is paitent, tentative and kind to Lucanis and his demon. He tells silly puns to make him laugh, teases him to make him blush, holds his hand when he's having a hard day. When Spite takes over, he sits with him and listens to his rambling, teaches him about life outside of the Fade, even soothes and pets the demon when he gets agitated, something Cyras learns Spite likes quite a lot.
Since he was a child, Cyras' love language has always been acts of service. He loves taking care of, not only his friends, but strangers he meets along his journeys. He cares so deeply for the people around him, and that goes double for Lucanis. He is drawn to the Crow like a moth to a flame. Perhaps it's because, as a Crow himself, he's heard stories of the Demon of Vyrantium. He's always respected him, but than as he grew to know Lucanis, that respect morphed into fondness and admiration. He no longer saw the "Demon", he saw Lucanis, and that lead to a friendship he never expected but cherished deeply.
He didn’t expect that feeling to grow romantic, but Lucanis saw Cyras in a way no one else ever had. Sure, the other members of the Veilguard didn't view him like his fellow Crows, they saw a different side of Cyras themselves, but it was like Lucanis could see past each crack in his mask to the person he was deep down. Perhaps it was because of his Crow training, but Cyras didn't care either way. It felt good to be seen like that. He found Lucanis interesting, funny in his own way, dripping with a type of charm he wasn't accustomed to. Lucanis had such a way with words, talking passionately about the fastest ways to neutralize a target one moment than waxing poetically about the most mundane of things the next. The fact he found Lucanis very handsome was a nice touch.
Cyras has never had much luck in terms of romantic endeavors, his past relationships not going farther than a few dates here and there. Sex was his job. Flirting was a tool and his looks were his weapon. He got used to the fact that people saw him as nothing more than a pretty face. Easy and quick. Something to use and discard. He was a city elf, after all, so being seen as lesser was something he just gotten used to. He honed that, using it in his favor, his charms and quick whit making his targets drop their gaurd, loosen their lips. Cyras has used it to take down rich snobby nobles, even a few princes and princesses here and there. He resigned himself to that life. If that's what he was good at, if that's all people were going to see him as, why try to fight it?
But Lucanis didn’t treat him like that, even when Cyras got a bit too flirtatious, when he slipped back into old habits, Lucanis still treated him like a person. It helped that Lucanis would get all embarrassed and nervous when Cyras would flirt and tease him, it was so different than the rich snobs who all thought they were the most important, most interesting, most charming people in all of Thedas. But besides that, Lucanis never pushed him further nor pushed him away. He played along or would start stumbling his words in embarrassment.
Cyras genuinely enjoys spending time Lucanis, and even Spite, and tends to visit them frequently. After Weisshaupt, Cyras' nights grew more and more restless, unable to sleep with the frequent, excessive nightmares, with his fathers funeral he missed only adding to more sleepless nights. So, he starts spending most of his time with Lucanis in the pantry where they continue to strengthen their bond. They start talking about their favorite books, or they just spend time together in silence as they both read separately. Some nights they tell stories of their own, mostly about bad jobs they had or their most impressive kills, and some nights they'd get a bit more deep, they'd talk about life, their futures, how they think this whole saving the world thing is going to end. Being able to not only talk so openly, so unabashedly with someone but also being able to say nothing at all but still enjoy that someone's company is not something Cyras had ever experienced, so he didn’t realize how much he craved it until he met Lucanis.
What if I draw more pretty elf?
